I don't know anything about the Radio 1 stuff, so I'll not comment on that. But the other part of it is just business, pure and simple. I get so sick of this "People should be doing it for the love of it, it shouldn't be about the money" etc. In an ideal world, maybe, but if you want someone to run a club week in, week out, as a full time job, for however long they choose to do it, you've got to expect them to take some profit. So what if they get bored or whatever and get out while the going is good? That's just sensible.
