Actually I believe it is detrimental to the child to teach them things that are directly contrary to widely accepted fact, as they find themselves at a competetive disadvantage in science and technology.

I mean, if I want to start a religion that teaches that teaches something completely contrary to scientific thought then it would be outrageous to start instilling whatever if it is I felt like in children.

Mind you, I suppose I have no problem with pretending there is a tooth fairy for a few years, so maybe I don't have an argument.

I haven't seen the evidence linking numbers Jewish people to scientific jobs, although I'm well aware of the historical precedents.

yes but the majority of faith schools aren't ethnic minorities? I don't understand why you've raised ethnic minorities.

We can only go on the history of the jews when discussing scientific achievements - as our kids haven't won their nobel prizes yet

The Jews are, however sadly, an ethnic minority, so I thought it relevant as a first stage - I couldn't find the figures for them excluding the others

I'm well aware of the sizeable Jewish contribution to science - we should certainly be teaching the relevant aspects of it in our schools - however none of it, as far as I'm aware, has been proof of Creationism as the origin of the universe

More relevantly, I suppose, I would be interested to see what proportion of scientists are:

a) religious (I know a couple, but no more)
b) creationists (I don't know any)

The vast majority of scientist and scientific students that I know are paid-up atheists

a huge proportion of scientific breakthroughs have been made by religious jews... I believe this to be a result of the way jews are educated... of which faith schools now play a huge part of.

The only other explanation would be jews have an "intelligent gene" which I find hard to believe
