The economy had collapsed, the people turned to fascism as they bleieved it could bring them out of the slump - the masses had nothing...

As both are parties which revolve aournd the proletariat I'd say their well being has a lot to do with it - in fascist germany they were sold on nationalism, germany will be the strength it once was - where everyone prospured... just like communist russia

Think both are equally attractive if you have nothing.

so infact, there could have been an equally large chance of there being a communist germany?
if the nazi party hadn't taken heavy handed tactics?

How do you figure that out?

They have the lowest crime rate in latin america.
They have the highest amount of qualified doctors and nurses in latin america
They abolished a capitlaist/gangster government and replaced it with an effective government which had the peoples interests at heart.
They've stayed independent despite a 40 year war with America.
A growing economy dspite America's destruction of cuban industries... for example the tourism industry is now on the up which is mind blowing considering you can't fly direct form america.
Capitalism failed in Cuba. Communism is succeeeding.

Show me a capitalist state that works.

very likely I think.... The Nazi party, and the rise of fascism right through Europe, was in part a reaction to the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia.

    thats just silly :p

And despite the fear of communism - I feel the Nazi's would of seized power anyway - the fear of communism merely accelerated this process...

You don't get communism - your looking at it through capitalist eyes.

If you look at the extenmsive training programs the cuba has set up throughout the third world you see how beneficial those doctors... so fuck if they don't drive a bently - they're doing far more good than some plastic surgeon who specialises in tummy tucks!

(and its actually a dollar a day - thats at the worst end of the market too)
