They are extremely simialr both revolve around a one class society - its hwo this class is governed that seprates them fascism tends to be run by one oppressive force where as communism needs to be run by the people...

Seeing as they both have the same goals - nobody can possibly chose fascism over communism as you lose your freedom in a fascist society.

However I'm sure a right wing extremeist like urself has a good orange theory ;) :p

Joe I think that's the most tosh I've ever heard from you.

as economic theories they're totally different..... in practise though we've seen communist systems end up as brutal totalitarian regimes just as bad as fascism... but blame Stalin for that, not Marx

Si haven't you ever wondered why Marx never mentioned Fascism as an economic system in Das Kapital? I feel its cos he'd have a hard job seperating it from communism ;) :p

If we look at how communist parties come to power its hard to tell them apart from fascist dictatorships, it is in essence a small group of individuals with serious superiotrity issues, in the captialist states communism springs from (if u follow the marx chain of thought) communists think competition is the source of all evil, the so called communist radicals believe its the capitalists need to compete that gives brith to aggression and greed (which I agree with btw) - so these revolutionaries seize power and set up in effect a commmunist "educational" dictatorship (forget stalin, show me a communist state where this hasn't happened)....

Where communism sets up a classless proletariat state governed by an educational dictatorship, fascism sets up a similar proletariat state governed by a dictatorship - the difference being the class system still exists - if your say a Jew in fascist germany you become a sub-class... so in esssence a class system can still exist but for the masses it is a very similar proletariat state.

Now getting onto your eocnomic comment, both systems discredited the capitalist "profit" society... Fascism replaced this with national objectives - the workers would work towards making a the state stronger and better than its neighbours... Communism was very similar the only difference being it would make itself stronger and more succesful for its people... Marketplaces were replaced with state governed markets, granted with the nature of fascism people could prosper... but in reality in communist states they could do exactly the same (just look at a general in comparisson to a farm hand).

They are two very different systems this I can't argue with, however they do ahve very similar objectives and history has backed me up :D

that is why it is arguable, however the concept of all the people working together for the good of the state, has worked.
