Well for starters I dont play the genre of music that a back room would host? my whole gripe was that maybe a more established headliner should be booked if you read back? why wouldn't they want to do it? For example: No disrespect to Binni & Scott but the red rooms is shite? 150-200 capacity max? the sound system is much better & all it's going to do is boost the profile of your night, hosting a 1 off special in connection with Evolve running alongside the actual night at the Ballrooms for instance would defiantely go down a treat?
Still why dont you boys club together and approach them, you all like the same kind of stuff so it makes sense
Sort of the point i was trying to get across. All im saying is the past few times iv'e been, the back room has bee opened very last minute due to numbers & even when it has opened it's been dead. 1 established headliner or even a local night with a bit of a following would work so much better.
My post was aimed at Stephen, they could all chip in, book someone like Anil (who they all bum) and get on it
Id defiantely get it done if I played that sorta stuff. get yourselves along, get your promos thrown about & get yourself known with Richard etc.. All of the above are quality DJ's which no doubt a skip full of freinds would be attendance aswel.
he'd be a really good dj for yous to start with, hes nice bloke and im sure he would be up for it. he aint big enough to be a headliner yet so its perfect.
its out of the question at the mo, as im skint, but when i get back to work its sumit to think about......... we goin halfers si ?
Ive seen Danny and Udders lose enough hair and sanity to say no (emphasis on the hair as Sunpat left his sanity back at Judgement Day 20 years ago)
I would think its because Digital Doghouse, which runs Assemble, has around 2000 members from the North East, therefore could pull in quite a few extra bodies.
we were approached to host the room off the back of a strong reputation in leeds which is a very hard crowd to please, and cross genre appreal of assemble and digital dighouse...I knew this would ruffle a few feathers but give us a chance. as for local talent to play those who make the grade to Richard do get asked...from what I have seen we have over 2000 regular users of our site in and around the newcastle area.....guess this is a big help in respect bringing home the £ for the club. Some of the DJ's are some of the best up and coming house talent from across the country...come along and see for yourself
Jon - Are you still playing Mark Morrison - Return Of The Mac(Bedrock mix) as your first tune? How is your Leeds night going?
yes mate always pack it just to play for you......yeah things are good in leeds and other places. How are you mate ? it's been a while
quality. Im game I'll be down for this Evolve anyways, quite looking forward to it. Marco V's combi:nation 3 cd is really good and he was awsome when he last played at Richard's night. Well done Jon and the DDH lads for getting the back room, i'd imagine there's a few of you's comming up for this one??
