I used to love going to digital but the last 4 or 5 times iv been the atmosphere has been shit, full of total wankers that walk straight through you and been bumped into for 75% of my night. People on here that know me know how small I am and how easy it is to push me over Iv felt uncomfortable from the minute I walk in and end up leaving around 1am because I cant handle it anymore. all any nightclub owner/manager is interested in is making money at the end of the day, no matter what you say to stick up for the club its all about the money and nothing else. you let these people in who pay their 14quid and buy 1 drink, neck a few pills then they are happy for the rest of the night, which is putting the people off going in who are there for the DJ's/Music who spend alot more money at the bar and are a nicer crowd. The club has been open long enough and evolve has been running long enough for the doorstaff to start remembering the regular faces/trouble makers and making sure the regulars are looked after and the trouble makers are barred. Fair enough anyone can cause trouble once they have a few drinks in them, but where are the bouncers???? In all the time Iv been going to Digital I only see 2 bouncers inside the club and thats at the stairs near the dj booth.
.....I thought Digital used Polycarbonate glasses and bottles? Its a shame! i was going to go after i finished work but didnt get away till late on.
this is the problem, the last few evolve's i've been to i've seen less and less people i know, the crowd is getting worse and worse. all this about "well, most people enjoyed it' is a shame - cause it's the wrong sort of people - fair enough, digital is past it's honeymoon phase now so they've got to go what they've got to do about getting numbers through the door, but pretending it's a GOOD crowd is insulting. it's turning into ikon. i loved fery last month but the crowd really turned it from me - now from the reports i've heard back this weekend from LOTS of FRIENDS who were there , i doubt i'll go to evolve again and i feel very sad saying that. but hey, i'm only 1 paying punter - what does my opinion count eh? on a lighter note, shindig is nowhere near as bad
Sums me up completely. Went to the Ferry, Hardwick Evolve which was good but not great Went for the PVD night and that was it.... (appreciate it was always gunna be busier/bigger clown presence cos of the name) but it was just awful Felt like I was in the way all the night, couldnt dance, no atmosphere... not been back since... but then the repetitive lineups and ever increasing negative incidents being reported is not not helping... :argue:
I seen a couple of kids covered in blood on Fri like which wasnt nice, one had his nose all over his face and had said he only went out for a tab and got shoed all over - was canny bad to be honest. The other one i seen walking around didnt look like he had any idea either. When you see some of the clientel now its shocking man, rockport, lacoste, stone island knock up etc which you wouldnt of ever seen a while ago.
aye ya right there like geordie, its full of them especially since ikon changed name and brand, they all seem to be coming to digital
The Biggie is a safer place than Digital Maybe it would be wise to invest in one of these before some of you go for your next trance fix:
I don't understand what aversion people have to plastic glasses and bottles? 1) You don't get bits of glass all over the place if someone drops one, so you don't end up with bits stuck in your shoes 2) If someone was to try and break one over your face you wouldn't come off half as bad as if they did it with a glass 3) cheaper to replace only downside we seem to have up consett way is that every fucker seems to pinch our neon glasses and take them home
Conway: My problem was with the ones used years ago, as they were made out of soft plastic, they were shite. But as I said was in Luckies recently & the ones they are using are bang on.
i don't mind plastic glasses to be honest - it all goes down my neck - but i think people treat plastic ones with even less respect - so more shit under your feet - but less if stuck in your face i suppose
My be melt was right about the place after all. Regeneration and tuberlance are the only nights i would go to there as i know the oldschool crowd is a bit oldler and remember the old ideas of peace love and unity at raves. Tuberlance is much more studenty night so there tend to be less argo. I think the fact that cowies are shit now and alot poeple are doing more shit coke is effecting the bigger clubs poeple just go out to nights with a the wrong attitude. Its weird we have been running an underground hard Techno/electro/breakcore/speedcore and gabber night for 4 years and we have had only had one fight. Freaky/detox/Rollies/EnergyFlash and Cause&Effect very rarely have trouble also Instead of going to evolve next month why not come to Cause&EffectvsBacklash at the Cosmic and see what real raving is all about. Nights ran by Ravers For Ravers. The reason that clubs are getting are so full of wankers is why the free party scene is bigger than ever in this country again.
I was with Geordie on friday night when some kid got his nose spread across his face, covered in blood. I went up to him & asked him if he was ok, he turned round & said he didnt have a clue who the kids were or what the pasting was for, I went & got the doorstaff for him who in all honesty were there like a shot. Yet again the kids weren't wearing skinny jeans & cardigans... Whoever says Digital are endorsing a stricter door policy are full of shite. The back end of the main room looked like Pier39 in Whitley Bay. I had an ok night, nice to see some familiar faces, Andy M, Robby etc.. music wise it was a little much to be desired if it wasn't for Fila being on last & totally pulling the night out the shit I would have been well disappointed. I cant see what all the fuss is about with SVD? I looked a his gig dates on the posters Digital had up for his album tour & it made me sick. I vowed Id never go to see him again after witnessing him play Seal - killer at the GG 7th Birthday a few months back, but as he was on my doorstep I gave him the benefit of the doubt, he played some decent tech but the majority of it sounded like 140bpm minimal? then he dropped these: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePyRrb2-fzs"]YouTube- Timbaland - Apologize (feat. One Republic)[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXCN1DhHTZA"]YouTube- SL2 - On A Ragga Tip 1992 Slipmatt & Lime[/ame] :spangled: :spangled: :spangled: shocking. Im absolutely baffled as to how he is so big, his older stuff under his Sam Sharp alias cant be ignored & is quality, I cant get my head around the dates he's playing nor why?
