The music industry isn't losing anything by me downloading sets and the odd CD, because I wouldn't buy them anyway and I won't ever own decks.. I'm far too skint.

yes fianlly, more people who see it from different perspectives.

The original question though was where do people get caught most often or where are the places that are the easiest to track people on? Such as XDCC, Torrents, P2P, Websites.

And when dos peerguardian come in to play?

Indeed it would, selling pirated cd's etc is wrong.

    @ Mr.B.ThatsMe - re: getting caught.

Use Peerguardian, as it blocks quite a few IP's from connecting to you.

If you're using traditional p2p, search for and use custom ipfilter.dat files if they are supported by the client (eg eMule does)

If you're using bittorrent, change your ports to the higher unallocated ranges at random, eg:
    min port: 58745
    max port: 58754
Will mean you won't be as likely to be 'sniffed' on ports 6881-->6889
Don't use public trackers neither, they are now very unsafe, and there are lot's of honeypots starting to appear - eg, stay away from centraltracker.org3

Loads of other stuff too, you're best searching google to find out more about the p2p networks you're using
