what you do at work, and what you do at the weekend are two totally different things!!!

    happy happy!! :)
depends on the nature of the job i reckon, some ppl can quite happily go out on a weekend n take as many drugs as is humanly possible n still be bright n breezy on monday mornin n it not affect them at all and some ppl arent so lucky!! if its just an office job or whateva i dont reeli see how drugs can affect ur performance at work although i've neva worked in an office so i wudnt know... dont think it should be compulsory though or that drug testin should even take place at all only maybe if the employer had serious doubts about their employee but reeli though whats society comin too if drug testing at work is introduced, surely things arent as bad as that i reeli dont think theres any need 4 it!! xxx

i agree wi what ya sayin helen but my point is that if your job requires a responsibility from you for other people then the company has got the right to know whether or not you've taken anything that may jeapordise your ability to be responsible for others' lives. i would think that if a pilot was prescribed anti depressants he/she has a duty to tell his employers. they would then investigate the drugs he/she was on and if there was a possibility that they would affect his/her ability to fly a plane then he/she would be at least suspended from flying duties until they were sure he/she could fly a plane safely.

if u just serve on the till at bhs or summink then it doesn't really hold the same responsibilities and therefore u could go straight into work from the after party on a saturday morning! :spangled:

Yes they would, which is why I said depending on the job you would be expected to work. The thing is that you could get fired from a desk-job, or operating a till at BHS etc, if a drugs test proved positive, but you wouldn't have to tell them about any anti-depressants etc. It just isn't consistent.
