Do you cut off all contact with your ex when they become your ex?

I agree with the treat them mean keep them keen situation ex's do do that but I do think it depends on the whole situation. Some people jsut forget and move on as thats the best way!

I think its easier if you dont speak to them at first then after a while you can become friends again but if you stay friends after you split up it makes things difficult and hard to deal with.

The one person I was truly in love with I dont really speak to anymore I say Hi when i see him out but everyone moves on and i have and I am more than happy with the person I am with now!

i usually do keep in touch wi my ex's, theres one that i don't and want to, but i can't get her number...

but shes a nice person so i feel harsh if i ignore her...

i jus keep saying i'm in the library an can't text back now, she must think i'm a work-a-holick!

In the past i havent really had alot of contact with my exes but thats probably been something to do with the fact that i was young daft and stupid - like now you say ??

When people finish the best thing to do is move on whether that be to stay single or to be with someone else cos people have different ways of doing things - keeping in touch at first doesnt work cos people hang onto little hopes that they might get back together when really it wont - i do believe things do happen for a reason !

Also if like me you have peoples numbers you do tend to text/ring all the time and expect the attention you got when you were an item and it basically isnt going to be is it, drink doesnt help these things too. Thats where i have fucked up and regretted it a hell of alot cos that isnt giving the person time nor space what they need to get on with there life and you end up pissing them off !

If the friendship is there i dont see why people cant be mates, it just takes time and getting used to thats all and in the long run that might be a good thing, as they say time is a healer !

Unless id been shit on badly then i would always talk and give time to anyone thats been part of my life and made me , thats as long as id made them happy too

I personally cant see how u can change from being lovers to jus friends. Especially if it was love. How can u bare to see someone with someone else wen u always thought they'd be with u. I cudnt stand to see an ex having a better time than they did with me. Im a very jealous person, thats probs why I feel like that. I think evry1s different. to peeps who r strong enuf to do that.

ive always tried to, as has been mentioned, unless A) you fuck them off or B) they fuck you off and it ends ok i see no reason for you to lose a friendship too... it's not the easy way out... in no way shape or form... if you still really like them, it can be painful being around them knowing they arent yours (so to speak) but in most cases it's worth the pain and effort.

so i only have one ex i dislike or wouldnt speak to. mostly because:

A) ive never actually finished anyone - a fact that i pride myself on.

and

B) the one i dont like i was seeing for 3 years and out of the blue she dropped me like a hot stone... and didnt go about it in a nice way... brought me out, face to face, with all her mates there and proceeded to rip me into little fucking pieces while her mates all laughed on... i never done anything to hurt her or make her want to destroy me like this, but for some reason she took it upon herself to do so. i only just managed to prevent myself from crying like a child as i walked away from them, and i suppose that is the most self esteem i could hope to maintain in that situation.

in fact i consider the above tale to be one of the most traumatic days of my life, totally changed the way i thought and destroyed my confidence for probably the rest of my life.

thats a pretty good reason not to keep in contact.
