well i was in amongst the crowd for large parts of the night and it was ok. much better than most places around town. there were people from manchester and liverpool in there and they were a really friendly bunch all saying how nice the crowd were i bet i know the person your talking about in the previous post. was he dancing to the left hand side of the club (facing the dj from the dancefloor) and did he have a shirt on? if it was him (he was dancing like a loony) he came up at the end to say how much he had enjoyed the music as its the first time hes heard any thing like it.... he was a really nice lad actually. its all getting a bit boring really isnt it
Scott, we might all be coming across as a bunch of snobby arseholes but there is a reason for this and it boils down to the fact that people who have been going to Shindig for years are repeatedly getting intimidated by a very specific type of person which shindig used to be renowned for having so little of. We might be putting them into little boxes and firing off accusations but it's real, we're not making it up and the people in question could well jeperdise your club in the long term. It's an issue yous should imo really try and address because a lot of people are talking about it just now. Recently when I was waiting outside in the queue for the residents party after the baltic event last year with dubfire, I saw a bunch of full on meat heads walk down from the other end at which point one of them spoke to one of the bouncers and he let them straight through. He obviously knew them and they then proceded to strutt about the dancefloor in quite a large group, barging through everyone and knocking them out the way. People were looking at each other as if to say "what the fuck are they doing here/why are they such a bunch of fucking grade a knobs" - and I'd saw one of the bouncers let half of the cunts waltz straight through. Maybe your bouncers are being more selective on who they let in than you think? On a slightly more comical note, has anybody noticed the large amount of lone turkish looking types who stand by themselves on the danceflooor not dancing and wondering what the fuck is going on?
simple as this really.... you don't like certain people who go to digital.... stop going... coz your in the minority, going to digital is no different to going clubbing in any other part of the country... or the world for that matter... there is always going to be unsavory elements that get into a club... all you have to do is not worry about it.. enjoy your night and rely on the staff to do thier job!! if you can't do that... get some beers in, invite your mates round and put a cd on.. just tell your mates to make sure they're not wearing anything stripey or they'll not be getting in!!!
You've never been clubbing anywhere remotely south of middlesbrough then? If I stop going to Digital where else exactly am I going to see Omid/Pappa/Warren/Seaman etc? What a ridiculous piece of advice. A lot of us are loyal punters, if we all stop going what is shindig going to consist of?
I played in Derry, Northern Ireland on Friday and it made Digital seem like one big cowied up love in. The promoter got into a fight and was barred from the venue, some bloke tried to glass someone and as I walked up the stairs to the venue a bar stool went flying past my head
well i live in america, i used to live in london, i worked for club med all over europe so i reckon i have enough scope to be able to comment and compare, i've been out clubbing all over and the crowds are very similar anywhere you go.. if you wanna see top dj's in newcastle, then digital IS one of the best if not the only place to go to see them.. but if your gonna spend the whole time your there worrying about getting smacked off some possible radge packet you may as well stay at home coz your not gonna have a very enjoyable night looking over your shoulder the whole time. as for being a loyal punter.... up until i moved over here i considered myself a ''loyal'' punter.. having been going since it was called the riverside, then foundation and then on to digital... but where's the loyalty??? i was going because then, as it is now it was, and still is the only place to see top dj's. if there were other clubs in the area that were doing similar things in similar venue's and you chose not to go because you prefered digital... thats loyalty... but when its your only choice for a good night to see good dj's... i can't see how you can call yourself loyal.... unless ofcourse you go everyweek, regardless of who's on!!! and if the likes of you stop going... fair enough.. digital isn't going to go under.. or out of business coz a few whinging fuckers who are scared of a few nobody's, (who are mostly there to have a good time anyways, and on the whole couldn't give a shit about setting about decent folk) decide not too go, coz to be honest.. digital gets the big names... and big names pull in big crowds.. so weather you go or not.. i'm sure they'll do just fine. so stop fucking bitching about things you have no control over, go out, get done in, enjoy the music, have fun and don't waste your energy on worrying about what other people are doing! coz thats what the door staff and the promotors do.... its thier job... yours is too have fun!! cheers... have a drink on me!

Well done, you sound like a total daft cunt. America's probably worked out well for you as it's full of cunts over there also. I'll have that drink on you also, cheers, then glass you with the empty then tell you to just "have a good night, enjoy the music & stop moaning" Get Real. Your loyalty means fuck all Ive bee going to Shindig since I was old enough for aftershave & my Dads fake Ben Sherman - but that means fuck all, when you or your mates get put in a similar situation then you have every right to talk shit, until then your comment seems a tad pointless. Save the Rave... :groovy:
why do people cry over these so called 'chavs' and what they wear? ive never had a problem wiv em and ive been goin out for 8 years on the 'clubbin scene' and been goin 2 the empire alot where people wear this attire quite alot. most of em ive talked to are sound its just people pigeon hole them coz wat they wear.
calling me a cunt... your grasp on vocabulary is quite outstanding... and calling everyone over here a cunt too.... just shows you up to be a narrow minded biggot...!! have you been here??? do tell.... or is it very rare that you leave the north east... can't handle being out of your comfort zone!!!????? and what the fuck do you know about me and my mates ever being in a similar situation... you don't fucking know me... so who the fuck are you to comment on what i have and haven't seen or situations i may or may not have been in!!????? but..... threatening to glass me.... on a fucking message board.... big man.. i'll be back in newcastle next month.... we'll meet up.. i'll buy you that drink..... then we'll see if you have the balls to stick it in my face... your the cunt mate... just for even threatening to do something like that!!
