anyway Gary.. Im not disagreeing with you We have been actively standing on the door trying to get to the bottom of it.. but as Lee says above.. If you don't like the place then just dont go..
I was at a night at cosmic the other week, exhibition A or something and that was packed to the rafters with cunts!! Nice is starting to go that way as well .
I like Shindig mate, I have went for years, unfortunately I took the above advice back in January after seeing the amount of 'bother heads' @ Woolford the other month, tis a shame that the attitude has resorted to "if you dont like it dont go" clubbers shouldn't have to be bullied out of going to a night the used to enjoy just because of increasing instances of trouble? Shindig has an element of responsibility, never mind...
It's Claire that got a kicking yesterday mate, im not sure if anyones been in touch with you being at work? Nicky called me this morning.
Sounds like the same Claire I know who got smacked in digital on saturday - bad crack Foundation wasn't without its rough nights too - anyone willing to make use of the search function on here will find loads of threads complaining about it. I think digital is just having more of them than foundation did. I agree with some of the comments on here, charvers and beer boys don't just go out in fred perry tops and rockports. You do get a large proportion of people going to digital who look canny at the door, and a couple of hours later are trying to smack the fuck out of someone for looking at them sideways. One thing digital needs IMO is better doorman coverage inside. The only place you seem to see them is on the stairs at the right hand side of the dj booth and at the main door, and occasionally one upstairs. If there were more of them inside and at points where they had a good view of what was going on, it means at least they'll spot the troublemakers and throw them out when they do start up
Spoken like a true none-drug user! Just keep them at the door thanks, I'll take my chances with the charvers.
The crowd wasnt too bad on at Shindig on Saturday - there was the odd obnoxious cunt that just walks through you as if your not there but I have absolutley no problem with saying sorry for something I havnt done when I'm enjoying some of the fantastic talent that get's booked. I'm normally with a few people so I suppose it's easyer to keep the riff raff on the outside and the ladies safe in the middle of the group.
Dont know if you know my g/f mate so could well be another Claire who was attacked I appreciate it is difficult as Scooby says to stop everybody looking dodgy getting in, as the drink etc no doubt turns a few who looked okay on going in into lunatics inside. When Claire was assaulted in the club though there were no doorstaff inside the club near the dancefloor looking for incidents like this, the staff knew nothing of it until we told them about it on leaving and then caught the lad to have him detained. They were spot on when we told them and did all that they could in the circumstances, though with someone watching the inside of the club the incident could have been spotted and the lad pulled a lot sooner that it was. The crowd on saturday especially towards the back was poor, it looked at times more like a scene from Pirates of the carribean than a nightclub, full of people blind from whatever they had been 'drinking' (bleach by the looks of it), the 'fuck or a fight brigade' that you would have previously associated with Ikon, and the checky shirt/stripey jumper crowd one of which ultimately assaulted Claire and led to me spending the rest of my night in a police station giving a statement rather than enjoying the rest of Nic Fanciulli, who had been wicked up until that point. People on here go on about the detox/GG crowds though from going to GG nights regular to see Gary playing the crowd on saturday was every bit as bad, if not worse than the sort you would see at 'harder' events. This isnt just about the club or the night and i appreciate as i said above how tricky it must be, though the truth is the crowd on saturday it a million miles away from the 'clued up, there for the music crowd' that im sure Scott/Scooby etc want to attract, and this fact is probably putting a lot of the targeted crowd off returning (after 6 years of going to Shindig myself included after saturday)
Yeah shes okay Jimmy, cheers, was just a bit shook up on saturday/sunday. Yes Si he was, fighting like a girl as well, kicking her when she was down and pulling chunks of her hair out with no provocation at all. Fucking prick, ran straight outside when we pulled him away, id personally have rather have gave the cunt a hiding though Clare wanted him locked up.
Brisbane's big dance club, The Family , had a lot of trouble with beer boys I'm told (ie, pissed up backpackers). So they enforced a strict dress code for men - no dress shoes, no polo shirts, no collared shirts (including rugby tops that stuck up Durham uni students like to wear wear), no prominent labels like Calvin Klein or Armani on t-shirts and so on. This keeps a lot of the trouble out, with pissed up backpackers not knowing the score, and your macho Aussie guys not wanting to go 'cos of the fag dress code' (they all like heavy metal anyways). To get in you have to show that you want to be there cos of the 'scene', if you know what I mean Every club ID's you here, regardless of age (within reason, if you look like 35 and below), which keeps the young un's out, though pubs are a different story.
