Obviously people look back with rose tinted spectacles... but i just wonder if people who have cut their teeth clubbing at digital will have the same kind of experience meeting people and having as good a time as they did at foundation?

Just seems like the constant pushing crowds and lack of anywhere to stand and watch takes away any kind of personality.

... you get bother in every club i suppose. There was plenty of people getting hauled out of Promise .... although digital seems to have a touch more radgee types (location probably)

Getting glassed though - thats fucking well off side.

Granted there were the fair share of shit bags in Foundation, but they all knew the crack, they had to make an effort to get in that Club otherwise they wouldn't, simple.

The owners probably dont give a stufff ..... people through doors is more wonga in the coffers. We all pays our money and takes our choice - we know its like that but we all still turn up to watch famous dj's play eh.

Smaller nights have more to lose if they get a reputation for any bother.

I think the people who run the nights give a stuff though

I was outside for first 2 hours and helped point out / seen the doormen turn away at least 150 people..

We are trying, but the majority who do get in are ones who actually look ok going in but change after a few drinks (true! really weird lol) or theres maybe 1 or 2 borderline knock back cases in a large group of say 10 decent people.. so you let it go or all the decent people don't get in..

Was hard for the doormen last night due to football being on late.. and I thought the crowd was decent considering that last night..

    good atmos

Suppose it's where your stood to be honest. I never went last night due to the amount of shit bags that were in when Woolford & Santiago were on, in the thick of it theres clearly problems as proved again last night by a poor innocent lass being kicked all over by some random lad & mobile phones being stolen the week before. Not Cricket.

Yes its also a quarter of the size of digital and can afford to be more selective in its approach to marketing itself (in respnse to cosmic ballroom comment.. I agree.. intimate clubs are always going to have that)..

Charvers these days look a lot smarter because they blow thousands of pounds on designer clobber down at Tucci so they can now get into half decent venues whereas before they couldnt get in because they stood out look sore thumbs.

Must be a nightmare trying to decide whos rough or not. If they dont let anyone in then they wont be able to put on the lineups people have become accustomed to but if they let any old div in then is full of radge packets.

Relatively normal people can go from being generally ok to absolute monsters in a second when they pass a certain level of drink or whatnot, so its never going to be easy.

..... like the relatively normal looking lass who had me shitting my kecks after displaying her kung fu ability to kick in full sized high heels. Shocking.

Your never goin to have a serene night when your trying to appeal to everyone, and the warts and all that comes with it.

    I agree with that too

When I used to stand on the door at foundation and help out it was easy.. now an old charv can grab an outfit from H&M and look half decent..

Its not until they have a few beers and you hear their patter that you realise what they are..

Must say though, Foundation used to get a hell of a lot of skanks in too.. cant understand why people tend to forget this when they remember the "good old" days..
