if anyone was interested.... sounds like it could turn into a decent part time job to be fair once they'd learned the ropes.

The problem is finding the right person, who's clued up and prob got a couple of extra years on them. (say 23/24+).

Being able to handle yaself wouldnt so any harm either as no doubt, in the long run, people would realise what your job was and remember your face.

Its pretty much impossible to spot random trouble makers who look perfectly normal. People sniffing too much coke has a major effect on some "mates" i know let alone a full club worth.

What about deploying some of the door staff to some of the problem areas, like at the back of the dancefloor where a lot of the twats seem to concregate!!!!

a dream team of scot bradford and the 'thoroughly **nice chap he met on northumberland street' last thursday would deliver some nice door selection

** melt / detox overboard / melt static / man of sceance / voice of treason / promise / miss van de graaf etc etc etc <delete as appropriate>

my credentials: being able to sell snow to the eskimos, sweet talking establishments into letting me use their venues for raves and staying sober on the door when dealing with the myriad of characters that attend detox

i think I fit the job profile

Totally agree there mate. I've only been to 2 Evolve's and Wax: On a handful of times. I normally only go to Digital for Shindig and to be honest, at all the events I've named above, I've rarely noticed any trouble or "radgies" in there. Although tbf the Evolve's I went to were the first 2 held - the rumours I've heard since are that it's began to go down hill more recently. However, when you do see trouble, it's not always the stripey top, Rockport wearing brigade.

I still think the door picking idea's a good one. Random idea, but good. Why not give it a try. Sometimes people who've been out in the bars prior to the club opening might notice faces who were kicking off in previous bars earlier in the night too.

The problem is getting trouble makers out, not in.

I don't attend Digital that much to be honest, but does any of the regulars notice if it's the same trouble makers each week?

Identifying those rather than potentially knocking back people who were just out for a good night seems a better way to start...

    just my opinion :)

Is putting an untrained person on the the door a good idea.
Do you have public liability insurance to cover them if it goes tits up.

What happens if the person is spotted in the street afterwards surely best leave this job to perfessional bouncers or people with full training.

I hate it when i have had to work the door at the redrooms its awful having turn away pissed up twats if the bouncers turned up late. Proper hassel and thats at a small club at night i know or know of alot of the punters.

I think I'd have to request a 2 minute conversation with people before I ever let them in. Not many people would actually get in anymore.

Best thing to do is to get them to answer questions about who is playing. Works well at the Sub Club.
