Melt in not biting shock you have finally worked out the internet after 6 years well done sir.

Looks good needs more backlash arts and crafts though IMO.

    I disagree.

It really doesnt need creative costs going out of control "a la uni" or a room 2 lineup that other hardcore / hardtstyle nights are going to rip for their event 1-2 weeks later.

I am trying to put on lineups that are as different as possible to all the other local nights and theres plenty of local djs that have featured a plenty at the last 3 detox events.

Mick Hedley, kurve, klude etc ...as far as I can see there are no other local nights featuring them

hence the reason they are being given a shot.

    :cool2:

Very funny. You're a hijack clown.

Whilst we're all talking jokes though, how the fuck is there still a market for hard house?

That was a joke about backlash its good to give different Dj's a chance to play.

You have to admit our room did work and it was a great party in there.

Not sure how to take that, slipmatt played a good set, as did Smurf and The panacea was amazing from what I saw off him. But everyone has different likes in music.

Daly I think your being a bit harsh on melt know it's Internet banter but he puts on more than hard house at his party's it not all dog on strings techno either.

Other than that I am keeping out of it I am far too old to arguing on message boards these days.

It's now official the season of goodwill so play nice with each other.

my favourite set in there was slipmatt.

thats how to take it lol

the beauty of the 2nd room at the uni is that its long and thin and even with only about 100 in there its always totally atmospheric

there are a whole host of factors which meant the last uni event in its current guise (before it gets turned into a glorified starbucks style coffee lounge) went right off. All of the rooms were very good but there was much in the organisation of that event and in the run up to it which in my opinion was not and its nothing short of amazing that the event was a whisker away from turning numbers of 900.

In a way its abit of a relief that the uni basement as it was has now gone as I had really got to the point where these bigger gigs were not enjoyable for me to organise anymore.

    :)

You do get I was joking in my first post.
The point about musically taste was different people will different favourite sets thats the good thing about having a varied line-up.
At no point was I saying that any room was better than an other you know that's not me as a person.
It's a great party a good send off to the uni don't take my other post as anything more than jokes as that's what were ment as.
Any way will bell on wednesday about sat mate.

the fact that you talk about "markets" and "hard house" tells me you don't understand detox at all

the beats are hard whether they are techno old school trance psy tech breaks hard or otherwise etc

it is others and generally (more often than not individuals who have never raved in a castle, on a boat, in a cinema, in a firestation etc etc etc) who choose to pidgeon hole detox as playing just hard house.

the majority of djs who have played over the years have played music that is a mixture of everything thrown into the MELT~ing point

an event that only played hard house would barely last much longer than a couple of years
