they did, they played in room 4 between 11 and 12 ish

as jonny and megatron swapped round theri sets and then megatron didnt play his 11-12 set , so raoul and yeti jumped on

only got told last minute that don was back in room 3 instead of raoul and yeti.

can anyone tell me if john rowe played....the djs were having such a good time some of them went a bit awol lol

JAMES FOR INFO - - -RAOUL AND YETI PLAYED IN ROOM 4 WHEN THEY WERE SWAPPED WITH DON

so they didnt get bumped for them

darksyderz have a strong local following - and putting on a event of this size is a juggling act of combining the best local djs (who also pull punters)

no point putting some one on who is 10 times as good as sasha if they are likely to only pull in 1 punter

but it would be nice if the "accused" in question could come on here and explain their actions like

the rig in room 4 supplied by the uni was less than ideal.

all other rigs in the other 3 rooms were blinding tho

NO!!!, but the real promoters are those who risk their OWN money and have to do a political juggling act of putting the best djs local djs on combined with headliners people will come out to see, whilst navigating all the egos and bullshit that goes with it.

if anyone could pack out venues the size of the uni then it would be packed everynight of the week and you would still have nights like freaky dancing on the go, BUT IT AINT EASY and thats why local clubsville is littered with the remnants of many that have tried and failed and populated even more by many many that just borrow ideas from those who have already done something tried and tested.

in the last 10 years I have never ever given anyone a set on the premise that they bring me in "x" number of punters. However, if there are 2 local djs equally as good and one has a following of like 30 people who come to see them and one has like no one who comes to see them WHO do YOU think will get the nod 99% of the time???

the thing people forget is it should be a team effort but it rarely is. There's no one there with their cash when the big bucks need to be found to pay for the whole whack of an event but there are plenty around when the adulation / plaudits of a successful event come rolling in.

with that other promotional outfit you mention (and i use the term very loosely) it hasnt taken long for a great number of people to suss out that they as djs or fellow promoters are only wanted to bring numbers into that event, whereas with DETOX the people that are involved in djing at the event / helping out are people that are genuinely classed as mates and thats WHERE there is BIG BIG BIG DIFFERENCE.

I therefore refer the honourable daly to his 20:20 gig that was run the same night as gods kitchen on 5th november 2005 ish for reference to "ART" over commerical acumen

AND my approach aint the same as digital!!!!!!!!!!!

digital put on djs that produce music for hairdressing adverts to pack the place out to make as much money for the bar as possible.

i put on events with djs that i want to see, who have been my idols for years and my only financial interest is in breaking even and bringing back in the money that I outlayed. THERE IS ONE hell of a massive difference.
