Like i would ever choose FD over Detox??? lol

at the end of the day FD is good but it's on every week, detox is an occassional treat......and the chances of the main act actually turning up at FD are very slim......lol

    see you there mr.paranoia.....lol.....xxxxxx

First of all hope you and richie are good.

But sorry lulu, but when was the last time anyone cancelled at Freaky Dancing.

Its a shame that both nights are on the same date,

But i don't get how the chance of the main act turning up at freaky are slim.

Every act booked in the last two years has turned up at Freaky Dancing i can't remember the last big act that did not show up.

Hi james, we are good, i hope you abd sara are too.....we got moved and house is amazing.

It wasn't a dig at FD it was a Dig at A8, cos they are the most notorious act for not turning up anywhere.

Besides i have it on good authority that A8 have been booked for a live PA at Detox on the same night....i hope thats not meant to be a secret though...lol

Fair enough i know Altern-8 cancelled Turberlance in December.
But that does not mean they will cancel Freaky Dancing (I hope not anyway).

I doudt Altern-8 will be doing a live PA at Detox as they don't do PA's anymore more plus melt would of put it on the flyer.

I'm sure both nights will be succesfull and everyone at them will have a good night.

To be honset i wish both night were on different dates, to avoid all the rubbish rumour spreading it alls seems a bit bolloxs to me.

TBH i wish everyone would bang their heads together and come up with a mutual agreement to put nights on a different times with different dj's cos i'm sick of everything being so close together, i cant afford to do everything and if one was at the start of the month and the other towards the end then it would make it so much better. Bt in relation to A8 doing live PA all i can say is watch this space.

Lulu the Altern-8 PA at Detox is not going to happen they do not do them any more. One of original duo has left and has nothing to do with the music anymore.

Its just mark Archer and his mate doing dj sets now if not gav would of got him to do a PA. Other than that it will just an ableton set with them just playing there tunes no singer,no dancers,no hardware.

I going to leave the rest of it to Gav and Melt as the whole business of this seems really fucking stupid.

no I wouldn't, their live PA in recent years consisted of them putting a dat on and pretending to play the keyboards (which I have it on good authority weren't even plugged in).

I booked em for a dj set coz funsize jonny was banging on about how good their dj set was at glade - best set at the glade, they were fucking class etc... ok ok jonny I'll book them just shut the fuck up eh:wink:

as to why we're on the same night, well I'll just say that we tried our best to shift the date but it was too late, detox also tried to move the date but also too late. We do discuss our dates in advance and try to avoid clashes, but on this occasion the discussion seems to have got slightly lost in a drunken haze and we've ended up on the same night.

fact is though that detox can only fit 400 people in, the last gig at the art centre most of the freaky crowd weren't there (probably mostly coz they were too slack to buy tickets), so while there's a fair bit of crossover between the 2 nights it'd have been a bit harsh on the other 4-500 people who'd have been at freaky but couldn't fit into detox if we'd just cancelled it... we clash with turbulence everytime we're at the cosmic but both nights are full, so there's obviously enough of a crowd these days for 2 nights at the same time.

anyway when melt gets back I'm gonna see if we can get some kinda video link set up between the 2 clubs so everyone can talk shit to each other etc. so nobody needs to feel left out:lol:

Er, jonney was not on at the glade last year Gav.

Turns out Altern-8 can do a P.A. as well.

With Chris currently running a PC shop in Stafford, it left Mark Archer and Mark1 to take bookings as Altern8. These days they usually perform as back2back DJs although they can still be booked as a live PA. Recent bookings in Dublin, Scotland, Newcastle and Brighton have been a success and Japan and Australia are on the agenda later this year. Very soon they have plans to release a remix package of one of their classics Infiltr8 containing a fresh d&b mix, a garage mix, a breaks mix and the original. Noting that the oldskool boom "can only last as long as people start making tunes again."

Mark1 is positively buzzing about being out there on the club circuit again. "People at events say to us 'you have got me out of retirement to go out clubbing again.' It's about staying on the right side of the speakers," he continues. "You can VIP it up or you can get out there on the floor. After I have finished DJing I like to get amongst the crowd on the 'floor."

So Disregard most of what i just said as usual.
