DETOX:FRIDAY 29TH OCTOBER: 9pm- 4am: MASQUERADE HALLOWEEN BALL - NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY

With the uni gig loads of oldschool ravers will come out retirement and i know loads people traveling from other parts of the country for Detox and one last rave in the uni.All the students loans will be though so they will be at turbs. It's pay day weekend as well so that adds too the numbers plus people can get decent rugs again.

Half that we won't be running it flat out in a room that size it just gives us more headroom and better dispersion for the mid tops.

Yeah it is one of my favourite rooms in the building. Nice low ceiling and great long room to fire the system down will be between this and the backlash room all night.

the bass on that system is a beast. Maybe a bit too much for a room that size though

seemed plenty in to me. Its a vast space to fill with all those rooms but it never felt empty

even at capacity the union never feels *full*

Always had it down to the uni being strcit on not trying to crowd the place.

There was plenty in all night couldnt get moved every time I went for a tab and the rooms were busy most the night. Did amazingly well with Akka being on and all the stuff in town. One of the best nights Ive ever had, Mark EG and Proteus were absolutely mental, the crowd is second to none aswell, best atmosphere going. Cheers Melt!

Had a good night just seemed to running between two rooms all night. And chatting to people. Agreed the bass was too much for some sets. We were turning it down for the dubstep as it bouncing off the Walls and ceiling. Also some dj's redling and turning up the bass on the eq's made it hard to sort out a good level. Thought rossy played really well and had good levels all night.
As for crowd it was busy just with 4 rooms and the smoking area everyone was spread out. Smoking bans in clubs can mean you have a 100 poeple outside at any time.
Well good bye to the uni and 16 years of raving in there.

There was 4 bloody rooms!?!? I was so mashed i only found 2...

I just been looking at photos on F B and it turns out there were loads there I knew and never even saw. Room 3 seemed to work so hardly left it, but now feel like i missed most of the event. Still had a top time tho
