it's all the usual detox suspects springing to it's defence - it seems like a loosing battle on here sometimes.

    i'm off for lunch

    all hail BOB

its like expecting electro at sundissential it aint going to happen

i'm glad the problems and other things arose because to be fair this has really smoked out who is WITH us and who is AGAINST us

and for that alone it was worthwhile that the venue moved

    :)

You weren't moaning, but plenty of people were. My point was a general one, which was: read the line up and decide whether to go or not, but don't go and then complain that it wasn't what you wanted (unless one of the main DJs had totally changed their style or something). Nights change and move on, they are under no obligation to keep playing the same kinds of music as they did three years ago. You can still ask promoters for what you want in future (or just stop going) and it's up to them to make the decision whether to do it or not. They'll soon change if not enough people want what they are doing.

a load of those djs play freaky , but its cooler than cool to like freaky and fashionable to slag detox

sorry to be using freasky as the "cool" example cos GAV IS SOUND and one of the best promoters in newcastle

but for the 10th time detox has always in the main been focussed on hard dance

the main room is always essentially hard dance

people need to have a word with themselves if they think the old skool room at the castle in 2005 was purist old skool, : smurf, uep and bass generator were on boshing out the gabba and thats harder than any hard house and tara reynolds was on in the main room ripping the room apart

i suppose SOME people just like events where people try and set fire to the place , shit on the bedroom floor and there are no drug searches

    james they are clueless

ive got some cam footage of you playing the last event

and unless people are tone deaf no one could dislike what you were playing

like board popularity = successful event

    i dont think so mate

if you knew all the ins and outs of this last promotion you would be mistrustful to

i suggest you be quiet on matters you have virtually no knowledge on

I think what poeple are getting at is that on friday at some points it was Hardhouse playing in both rooms at the same time.

Now i know this was due to the venue only having 2 rooms instead of three and not what detox had planned from the start.

But it is nice to go to a venue to hear different stuff to the mainroom in the backroom and vice versa.

    I have to disagree

the main acts have always been hard dance

anyone who went from the start knows its hard dance

but now i am bored of saying this

    if you like you go

if you dont like you dont go

    its a simple choice

if you want old skool , go and camp out in the old skool energy flash room at backlash

if you want techno go to freaky

if you want house go to shindig

    etc etc etc

we dont run detox to a formula

    I hate clinically programmed rooms

ADAM LAB 4 - played techno, well what i heard was definately techno, what form it was , i aint into labels that much so who cares

the organ donors had to be accommodated in the 2nd room and we are glad they were cos they are class

john flemming was playing trance in the main room when adam was playing hard techno in the 2nd room

and organ donors were boshing it out in room 2 whilst savage was dropping crowd pleasers in room 1

hell i even saw a kid called james jumping around to a speeded up version of OT QUARTET hold that sucker down
    that savage was playing

you will never keep everyone happy, if people want to programme the rooms they should save their money and put it where their mouths are and actually put on a night

(that aint aimed at you james)

its easy to have an opinion its a different kettle of fish putting it into effect

I think though by just positioning yourself as harddance night your selling yourself short you always had an element of oldschool, techno, house, breaks, whatever at detox.

Letting this go would be a sad thing imo.
