    They do, Gary Proud.

Well funny watching well known Trance DJs force him into a sound tech position.

Why do people seem incapable of not fucking a soundsystem, Im not surprised the owner was pissed off.

exactly, its not rocket science just to take a bit of care with a system.

ay - I'm pretty sure the problem was that mark eg had the monitor levels set quite low, so it'd have sounded quiet in the both when energy dai took over. Trouble was that instead of notching up the monitor volume he/she (was too fucked off to be arsed to work out which) decided to wack the gains all the way up, thereby not only turning the volume up on the monitors, but also on the full rig that had already been as loud as it should go, and could easily have blown.

If they'd done it on a squat party rig they could well have ended up being dragged out the back for a kicking by the rig owner for that - if it had actually blown that would have been a serious possibility anyway I reckon.

fucking overpaid amateur dj's, not really surprised the manager lost his rag, problem is that it's not the people who've paid to go to the night that have caused the problem, yet it's them that suffered.

you have a degree in sound engineering now then danny

    all you are going on is hearsay and speculation;

every single night that has played the ballrooms their djs at some point or other have redlined the mixer

tbh some of the equipment they have got in there is truely shocking, take the deck upstairs for example: didnt even hold pitch control

the managers disposition has got more to with the finest columbian and the fact that mark eg was climbing all over the dj booth, take a look at the pics on dontstayin.com its hardly surprising that people thought mark eg was completely out of control if they aint experienced that before when in reality its part of his act.

theres about 2 or 3 people in newcastle who know what they are talking; two of them are binni and gav,

You dont need to be a genius to know when a soundsystem is overloading.

    (a) were you there

    (b) static was on hand 99% of the night to monitor the sound levels, hell he even had gaffa taped over the levels on the mixer / amp to prevent interference, he goes to toilet once and when he had popped back someone had ripped the gaffa tape off the pieces of equipment and whakced the levels right up

I am bored of all this inane drivel now

and dont you have tom middleton posters to put up?

I aint, what I am saying is that no one who is booting off in this thread knows who exactly temporarily pushed the gains up

half the people citing mark eg

half the people citing energy dai

its strange cos the general manager booted off when mark eg was jumping around the booth and doing somersaults on someones crutches not when the sound was clipping

    :spangled:

The decks upstairs held there pitch control fine the problem was one of them started feeding back due dodgy connection wires which the venue knew about before the gig but did not bothered to tell anyone upstairs about.

The managers words were its done this before, why he did not tell us that the deck had problems while we were setting up i don't know.

As soon as the deck upstairs was changed everything was fine took a while for that to happen mind.

Melt there are alot more poeple in newcastle who know about sound that just binni and gav believe me.
