The plumber from Desperate Housewives was how I thought Langdon would have looked.

Just finished reading the first Dan Brown book with Robert Langdon, 'Angels and Demons', and you can see the Tom Hanks similarity here. Not a very good book though. He's got a really patronisign style of writing.

    Alex what the hell?

I agree with Helen I didn't think he was particularly suited for the role, Im sure he did it justice although his particular "look" was not what I imagined when reading the book.

    Copied from another messageboard:-

''IF YOU HAVE READ AND ENJOYED THE BOOK, DO NOT GO AND SEE THIS FILM.

IT IS DIRE. THE WORST THING IN YEARS. THE WORST ADAPTATION EVER.

    WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

It is as if Ron Howard summed up The book on a postit, forgot about the main topic of the book, Sacred feminine, and decided to add random stuff and shite action.

    You have been warned. ''

Went to see this last night, bit of a let down for me, i don't think they got the cast right at all!!

Tom Hanks was poor, and the film seemed to move a bit too quickly for me.......didn't help when i'd been drinking before hand and was struggling to stay awake half way through like.

Not a patch on the book:(

It's been totally slated in all the reviews I've read so far.

I'll still watch it to make my own judgement though.

Been to see it this afternoon. Its ok. From what I'd heard I expected it to be nothing like it, but it was pretty accurate to the book. Or as much as films can be to books.

It did fly into it. Had been on an hour and I was thinking how they could drag it out for another hour and half. But I did enjoy it. Didnt have anywhere near as much edge of your seat as the book - lost some of the "chase".

Surprisingly I thought Tom Hanks did well, even tho I dont really like him and expected Langdon to be thinner.

Overall, quite good but realistically it was never going to be as good as the book. Worth a watch

went to see it last night. it's an ok movie. some dodgy directings and hammed up acting from the monk and bit part characters.

if i hadn't read the book I would have thought the story was a bit of nothing.

worth while crappy movie to watch on a sunday come down when you don't mind falling asleep half way through.

I went to see it yesterday. Thought it was reasonable. I'm not a fan of the book at all (thought it was complete shite in fact) but the film was half decent.

It was accurate to the book but I can see why it's received poor reviews, I though it would translate onto the big screen a lot better than it did.

I wasn't impressed with Hanks or that French woman.. can't believe some people in the cinema clapped at the end.
