Well if your a budding DJ and have a demo at hand, or if you want advice. They are quite friendly ppl!
This Saturday at Crasher in Sheffield will host one of the dates for your Combinations 2 tour, Combinations 2 is your recent mix compilation, does it follow on from the first album, or does it move in a different direction? The first Combi:Nations album is from 2004, already 2 years ago so i think it's normal that this one is a little bit different. Combi:Nations 2 has more vocal tracks and i did a lot of reconstructions and edits. You will be performing an exclusive DJVJ set which we believe you are doing in all the clubs involved in the tour. Can you tell us a bit about how the DJVJ set works, is it true that you have made all the visuals for the performance? The main thing is that i play with dvd's instead of cd's, that means the music and images are perfectly beat matched and that i mix the music and images separately. I did some visuals myself but most of them are made by some good VJs. Of course i do give them some input on how i like things to look. You played in Gatecrasher last April to a sell out crowd, what’s been going on in Marco V’s world between then and now? Too much to mention in a few words. I played everywhere and nowhere, a lot of festivals and great clubs. In the studio we are still working hard on the new Benjamin Bates album that will be released march/april 2007. What has been the highlight of 2006 for you? My Combi:Nations 2 album and tour. You have your own label In-Charge records, how is the label going for you and what material have you lined up for future releases?Label is doing great. I just released a track from Jodi Wisternoff called "Nostalgia" and at the end of the month Phatzoo - "Twisted Tweak", which contains a more kind of techy remix from myself. This year we have been treated to monster club records like Red Blue Purple, the awesome False Light and most recently Second Bite, these were all taken from your artist Album 200V, what’s is the next instalment from Marco V, where has it been road-tested and what has the response been like? I play these tracks everywhere i go, i think that people still like to see me playing these tracks. Red Blue Purple and False Light are always sure shots for me and Second bite is starting to do well also. You have always been referred to an innovator in Dance music and you are probably one of very few DJs that is referred to as the DJs DJ of choice, what is so special about your sound that reaches out to so many people in this scene? I don't know if i am a innovator i just don't want to make the same things over and over again. I always like to twist and tweak with sounds and percussion to find something new instead of making another "automanual" , "indicator" etc. With 2007 fast approaching, where can we expect to see you performing over the Christmas & New Year season and also in 2007? At Boxing day i will be playing at the Kingshall in Belfast for the Planet Love party where i will be doing a DVD set as well. On the same night i will be playing at Cream in Liverpool. 30th of December the Gallery at Turnmills in London and NYE at the LA Sports Arena in Los Angeles, which is a huge party for around 20.000 people Congratulations on being voted #18 in DJ Mag’s recent Top 100 poll, what do you make of this list and how have you managed to stay at the top of this list for so long considering other high profiled artists dropped hugely this year? Thank you, i am happy that people still voting for me. I think the whole top 100 poll has a lot to do with productions as well, the people who dropped are still good dj's but probably they didn't put out any new tracks and that's what most people know you from. Thanks for taking the time to speak to us, we are all eagerly looking forward to seeing Marco V’s live DJVJ set this Saturday to a sell out Crasher crowd! Looking forward myself
