Christmas Crasher Classics 27th Dec

Because I missed out on the glory days and i love that music and want to hear it out in a club more than the 2 or 3 times that ive heard it, fair enough the 'big classics' such as for an angel, silence, ive heard plenty of them but I grew up absolutely loving trance such as the trance nation series, but never got the chance to hear them out in a club full of people going mental....its a whole different experience and one that i missed out on. What, therefore, is wrong with people like me going to events like that?

In a couple of fridays time I am going to Out of the Blue, a locally run trance night in Manchester, the night after that I am going to SeOne in London for Wildchild, I am currently trying to get to the locally run trance night at turnmills on a tuesday, I am also trying to get to Tangled, another trance night in Manchester.....I am trying to get to all of the trance I can get, im not just sticking to the big name events, but if Godskitchen put on a massive event at the telewest with a fantastic line-up then I am going to go to it and if Gatecrasher put on a classics night with another awesome line-up then I am going to go to that, especially seings I havent been to a classics night for a while and the last classics night done by gatecrasher in Leeds was one of the best nights of my life, and the last classics night i went to at promise put on was dire musically. Oh yea...promise is closed too. What locally run trance nights do you want me to support? Id love to hear about them!!

OR....it says a lot about gatecrasher But what it could say about trance is that it has moved away from its more mainstream appeal in 1999 and the music has progressed into something which is less appealing to the general public. OR, it also might say that trance which appeals to the mainstream is dead thanks to the likes of DJ Sammy who gave trance a bad name for the people who cannot differentiate between cheap imitations and the real thing.

Whatever the reason producers are still dishing out awesome music and there are still fantastic trance nights around the country, and as long as they're still there im a happy bunny!

i never went to crasher in the GLORY days either, but i'm not daft enough to give the twats at crasher my hard earned cash for minimal organisation

mate crasher is dead, they dont book regular trance line-ups, when they do its the same djs, and classic nights, they dont hold a fewtival anymore, need i go on? lol

They may be twats but at the end of the day you wont find many lineups better than and if the music's good then im happy, thats the main thing. Had no problems with them in the past and until i do i wont stop paying money for them to put on events like this.

Hmmm I've been to 2 of these crasher classics events and so I don't think I'll be attending this one! Would rather go to something a bit different, like Nu-Crasher

No I admit crasher is dead in terms of a trance brand, but it doesnt mean its not capable of putting on one off good events. On thursday i went to discotheque, the new crasher in leeds and saw Riley & Durrant and Jules, the soundsystem was fantastic, the lighting and production was astounding and the music was pretty good too! The crowd wasnt the greatest but other than I had no complaints. Crasher is far from dead, it's just rebranded and moved away from trance...they advertise that fact themselves!!

Oh, sit down, you're not 'reliving the best nights ever', you're paying money to a corporation that see's this sort of attitude as a money spinner. There's no real effort with the line-ups, or the decor, or the sound system or the anything to be honest.

I missed the glory days too, Red & Black 2 was my first and last ever night at 'real crasher', and, though I enjoyed the last classics night, it was pissed all over by what had been. You don't even get cybers any more, it's just like a normal club crowd, in a normal club, listening to classic trance.

I know! I really wanna go, but have lectures the next day. Hmmm... tempting

I would rather listen to that Dido & David Gray soft-rock ballad I suggested than go to a classics night of any genre

I've got a 9am lecture the next day! although im in leeds so a bit closer than you! my mate from york uni is coming too but he doesnt have any lectures the next morning! no fair! £5 in with NUS as well! result!

exactly, so crasher as it was is dead and gone lol and them line-ups are about as experimental as curry with chips.

Ok....i agree, but like i say, it can still put on a good night. It might not live up to what it was in the past but il still have a bloody good time if the music is as it was at the last one i went too!!
