Carbon dioxide emissions from domestic properties accounted for 27% of total UK emissions in 2003 (figures from DEFRA website). In other words, if all domestic users cut back by just a small amount, it would make a significant difference. Industrial users are having to cut back due to various pieces of legislation (eg EU emissions trading scheme) - it's about time individuals took responsibility for reductions too.

I think I need a rather large brick wall with which to beat myself around the head.

It would take everyone to reduce their energy consumtion for it to make a huge difference, would it not??

so is everyone doing it? i think not.

so by me turning my heating down would not make a huge difference, only to me being cold, next

Not everyone, no. Every bit makes even a little difference.

And if everyone had your attitude, nothing changes and we are all up shit creek. Ever heard of leading by example?

    Next.

Storm - you are a total cock. End of. I hope you turn you heating up so much you burn to death in your house and your cats pick and eat your rotting carcus.
