yeah what it really needs

is (i) to borrow an established brand that has been hosted in ibiza successfully for years

(ii) to feature local "superstar" dj(s)

and (iii) to incorporate the obligitory digital photograph of ones night night getting big upped in dj mag or jiz/mix mag

without any of those things I am sure it will surely "fail"

....that aside ....tho... i laugh at the fact that something costing the best part of 20 quid professes to come from the underground

the true underground is relatively un-advertised / non corporate and generally not about names / brands etc....

most people who talk about the underground have not got a fucking clue what that really means

the whole acid house culture sprang up in defiance of this bland corporate packaged bollox

End of the day, this has probs gone shite, and in all fairness that's probs a bad reflection on the lads/lasses who made an attempt to put a half decent NYE event on, it's simply just a reflection of how far the, dare I say it, "the scene" - (fucking cringe) - may need to move on in Newcastle - in any other normal time locals should support nights like this, but nothing about it made sense.

(1) Nobody really knew much of these lot up here (even though it shouldn't matter).

(2) Has much effort been put into promo? Not that I've seen. Another fail.

(3) Did they get out around the Christmas parties pushing their night? I never saw them.

(4) This could have worked, had they known the area/crowds/potential venues better.

It's a shame really if it hasn't worked out as I'm all for new nights making an effort.
