Well yeh but before long id be walking round like Data from the Goonies

I think the good thing with the Iphone, despite the camera quality is that everything you need is on one device. It has the net (where ever), camera, mails in sync to your laptop (if your a mac user), mobile phone & Ipod. Suppose it's all personal preferance really but for me the Iphone is an abvious choice.

Well... not so obvious that I bought a friggin Itouch the other week Lol.

Basically, I cancelled my Orange contract about 8 months early and I've been whingeing on for months about how my ipod broke and how I've been having to use a shitty 2GB one.

I got in from work and told my 'rents that I was going to get an iphone and kill 2 birds with one stone. They tried to convince me for about half an hour not to get one, saying they've heard bad things about Apple, that they're too expensive etc. I was stubborn and said I'm getting one anyway.

They then turned round and said that I've ruined my birthday present, as they've bought me an ipod touch as a suprise. Bit of a nightmare!

The touches are brilliant dont get me wrong, I just like to have the net constantly which is my only problem.

still, 2 months isn't the end of the world, you'd be kicking yourself if you had 12 months to go and you'd done that...

true, but for some reason they've lengthened my contract (i signed an 18 month contract last may, putting me into my 15th month, but apparently i can't upgrade until october and my contract doesn't end until january). orange are also shite in terms of phones/contracts/free stuff, so i wanted to change networks. plus the phone that i got with that contract is fucked so i'm using a useless old sony ericsson that was my girlfriend's three years ago.

i'm considering ordering a new phone anyway and having two contracts open at once, although i'm not sure whether that's financially viable!

I'd query that. It sounds like they've extended your contract without your consent?

Must be grounds for cancellation somewhere....

Ring em up and find out when your contract is going to expire, challenge them on it and tell them you were due to leave in 2 months.

If they tell you otherwise, tell them you want to cancel as they've amended the length of the contract without your permission. Jobs a goodun :D

all i'm told is that because i upgraded two months early last time, i entered a new 18 month contract which was extended to 20. however i'm sure i was told i was "entering into a new 18 month contract" when i opened it. nobody at orange seems to have a fucking clue!

go back through the paperwork for it and check the dates. My contract told me when it was due for renewal on the original copy.

If you find they've cocked it up on paper, you've got them.

unfortunately this is true, they add the remainder of your last contract onto the new one. Its one of those things that they don't exactly shout about but if you ask them they'll tell you. I'm in a 21 month contract now (ish) as i upgrade as soon as possible.....wish id waited last time around!!

Im gonna go for 12 month contracts from now on like, I'm always wanting a new one after about 6 months so 18 is far too long

LIKE FUCK!!!.. i didn't even use all my Minutes!!!!.. used the net for like 20mins that was it, dont have delivery reports on or fuckall or made any 0845 calls i've just went thru my e-bill. My contracts actually only set at £18 per month as a deal as i've been with them 4 years.

They can fuck rite off, they can half that fucking bill or do 1, useless robbing bastards.

    EDIT:

Looks like i'll be banging my head off a brick wall tryin to cancel, am just gonna cancel the direct debit i've had enuf of these weird sky high bills & their shitty signal problems.
