    What have you been smoking?

Cable upload is HALF the speed of Adsl, and the price is MORE than the low priced adsl providers - So you get LESS for MORE MONEY.

Ive been on NTL and Telewest... and 2 adsl providers - Cable is rubbish for speeds and flexibility

Some areas just can't get broadband. There's nothing you can really do except register your interest on BT's website. You can put your phone number in there to see if you can get it or not

i am in a broadband area, but i have a second line that splits from the main line, which needs to be changed. BT will do it, but they'll charge me a lot of money for the priviledge.

    :(

BT charge a lot to do anything! Cost me about 100 quid to activate my phone line when I first moved into my house - scandalous

Personally I use AOL Broadband, for some reason I can't find many people who like AOL, they all complain that it's crap. But honestly I've used AOL for a couple of years now (1 year of dial-up, and soon 1 year of broadband) and it's given me no trouble at all.

£27.99 a month, sorted  (Though they give you a stupid 12 month contract thing, but I'm sure most of the big ISPs do that anyway)

Nobody has mentioned Tiscali, why? Is it shit?

    - it's free access for £15.99 per month and that includes your modem & connection.

    Thanks.

That one is 3x - at least though you can leave it on without tying up the phone
    5x is about 20 quid
    10x is 27

I'd be careful though. That one might have a connection fee for some reason whereas the 3x and 10x don't.
