I don't think Juski was talking about poverty related crime, think he was talking about race insighted crimes.

i think my point was lost a little. you will always find a high number of people with radical viewpoints within a deprived community. it matters not what the ethnicity of such a community is, so to suggest that walking round a deprived ethnic communtity is more dangerous than walking round a deprived white community is absolute drivel.

Agree to an extent, I think the problems are more visible in deprived areas, however it can be just as bad in affluent areas - take british aristocracy years of impreliast arrogance has left them with some disturbingly fucked up ideology.

The racism may not be as obvious but it certainly exists.

Race crimes, like any crimes go hand in hand with poverty however racism is everywhere, regardless of class, race, wealth or sex.

well, this thread has been an eye opener...

when i read the intial post, (having debated this matter with joe before) it was clear to me it was a bluff. and seeing as last time this dicussion was had i went to the trouble of digging up some actual evidence showing the real crime levels, and the fraction of our goverments budget spent on imigration and asylum, and proving to a degree that comments such as 'they are taking the piss' and they cause crime' were unfounded comments, i expected to see 15 pages of people jumping down joes throat for displaying such a bigoted viewpoint. but the reponse to this one was worse than the last discussion.

i cant really add much to what has been said already to be fair.

FACT: AS get better dental care(and it's free) than most people could ever afford.

They get the same medical/dental treatment as people on beneifts.... they aren't whisked off to harley street.

my mother in law's a dental nurse and works at a surgery specifically for asylum seekers and people with physical & mental handicaps. For every asylum seeker they take they get paid more than if it was a "regular" person on the NHS - as such the surgery can afford much better equipment, higher standards of service etc etc.

yes they are facts, but they're not really relevant are they?

erm they're completely relevant they show that asylum seekers/refugees have access to secondary and primary NHS health services - just like our people on benefits.
