pensioners do not just get £78. I work for the DWP and find out that some pensioners recieve £65 pensiona and outta that they pay full rent and ct and live on sfa.
assylum seekers get their rent paid, new wardrobes, toys for children, the list is endless.

The maximum for any single asylum seeker can claim is £36.54 in vouchers. Where as a pensioner will receive £78 in cash to spend as they wish and have access to other benefits including free prescriptions, bus travel etc.

The asylum seeker will be paid largely in vouchers (upto £10 cash), will not have access to other benefits, and will lose the change from vouchers which must be kept by the shop under Home Office provisions.

I am giving a case of your average pensioner who gets say £78 (as you have said although it varies - depending on how much they have paid into their stamps)

this pensioner may be getting cash however they are living on the bread line by paying full rent and council tax. so with £40, gone then another £15 on CT, water rates elecy, what else do they have left
wow free bus journies into town to spend what the 3p they have left. free prescriptions, do assylum seekers not get that ?
