Back to the subject - linear extrapolation of this order is pseudoscience. You might as well extrapolate from the 1500's and calculate that the population will have grown by th end of the century.

Why do you refer to 'occident' Joe? Doesn't that include South America and therefore the Brazil that you told us was going to be dominating 'occidental' values?

I'm sure there will be a shift in the balance of power, and I'm sure that China and India will grow, but it's difficult to see the downfall of the Western world and it's values like you're saying. What are Western 'values' that you think are under threat from these countries? Gender equality maybe?

The shifting demographic and ageing population provides a formidable challenge in term of healthcare provision, but this is the same everywhere. The obvious solution is to increase the retirement age, not that I'm particularly keen on this.

Whilst I suspect the manufacturing base will head abroad, the biggest contributors to our economy at the moment are banking and pharmaceuticals. Invest the money in education now, keep generating world class graduates in science and economics and we can keep ahead. IMO.

Yes, I agree, the churches are full to bursting every Sunday now compared to 200 years ago.

The biggest threat to the West, and the world, is global warming. Mass flooding and inability to grow enough food will far overshadow other geopolitical concerns.

post war predictions were close to correct.... Why would these models fail now?

    ???

The Occident refers to Europe, America, Canda, Australia & New Zealand; not southern america.

Can I ask you why you think finance will remain in the UK if America and Europe are weakened?

lol your ignorance is astounding, you view the world through anglocised glasses, I suggest you visit China, Africa, America, Latin America and cite the same nonsense.

The world is larger than your back garden.

Ever since the UK split with the vatican religion has been on a decline in the UK, so its logical to assume that a weakened religous state would be more embracing of atheism; but this is an exclusive traight of a few westernised nations... christianity is a growing religion.

I can provide countless statistics to support my argument, but the best argument you can provide is localising the issue... Using you logic its safe to say that islam accounts for less than 1% of the worlds population as they make up under 1% of Newcastle population

These rising nations will dispense with mass organised religion, just as the west has, as a means of control over the population.

The same goes with neo-socialism, eventually it will crumble as governments realise they cant assert the same level of physical and social control of the population that they enjoy now.

You stated we're dependent on America, I pointed out we are not.

America will have little impact on the future of the middle east as the muslim/arab nations grow in size and strength, Israel is a tiny oasis surrounded by hostile nations; at present we are more powerful but this will not be the case forever.

This has fuck all to do with america, which is what you stated.

ps. you're allowed to debate with me, it just annoys me when you don't understand what i'm attempting to say; but thats probably my poor communication ;)

Jerusalem looks rather hot and dusty and featureless to me. You would've thought god could've installed some amenities for his chosen ones :D
