This is TV as great modern literature, a shattering and heartbreaking urban epic about a city (Baltimore) rotting from within.

    that about sums it up.
watch it. TV don't come any better

"Entertainment perfection. If you love drama, comedy, character interaction, script writing, plot developing or any combination of any of them you will not find anything better than The Wire. The best entertainment I have ever seen, regardless of movies, TV, comedy, etc, this is entertainment of the very highest order. I've seen the best cinema, theatre, music, etc has to offer. This beats all of 'em Y' feel me."

How about things that you think nobody else you know has even heard of?

    For me it's

    Party Down
    Freaks & Geeks
    Royal Pains
    Undeclared

I'd say 'Spaced' too, since none of my friends seem to have seen it, but I can imagine a fair few around here will have. Definitely worth the watch though :D

I'd say off the top of my head:

Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Best thing on TV I reckon)
    Rescue Me
    Eastbound & Down
    30 Rock

There'll be more I can't think of right now.

Can't believe no ones mentioned the West Wing yet, quality programme

    Apart from that

    The Sopranos
Honorable mention goes to Rome- BBC and HBO collaboration, is quality

Obviously family guy and the simpsons and southpark, but they go without saying really

Newer stuff- Summer Heights High is absolutely mint, Trailer park boys as well, but thats been around a while :cool2:

Like both the sopranos and trailer park boys, but there is no Turning back when you have watched the Wire after the first 5 programs its so good and even though series 5 never hit the heights of 3 and 4 it still managed to pull out humour and surprise's right till the end by far the best Television i have ever watched.
