Wicked day. Bit of a shitter getting the tunes turned off before Kerry & Vickys set. New management wanted it turned down 3 times (which I did), considering the likes of distorted have had events there and had the sound atleast twice as loud I was a bit gutted. In the end he wanted the tunes off completely. :(

Makes no sense we could as loud as you want at twist but not at the Baron and Baroness.

Always been sound issues there to be fair

The Distorted lads told Drop the Bass to turn the sound up and ignore the manager/owner while Scott Brown was playing as it was meant to be their last night there before they "done it out"

The owner was stood outside with one of those noise things going off it.

We have a pretty good relationship with the manager he just some how has more noise complaints in that venue then twist.

We did not turn it up full blast or anything like that as the council would take our kit and fine us under the section 63 act.

iirc, the guy was stood right out side the door with one of the dB meter saying it was too loud but regulations state you have to be a certian distance away from the venue for those to be taken into account.

Not exactally sure as I get told from the lads who run distorted, think you were at another gig that night aswell James.

I remember the council being really heavy with there version of the regs as the reading should be taken as source of the complaint.

I was at the scott brown gig as i remember it all pretty well we had to turn the bass nearly off to keep the gig going.

It all very weird that at twist the manager and the council seem happy to have it loud but not at the Baron and Baroness.

Newcastle's a strange city for noise restrictions in the way its built up with residitional bulidings next to venue's.

I heard it was because Digital complained because you could hear it in the Other Rooms louder than the music that was playing in there?

I should use that quote on our website when it is rebuilt.

We never really got too full power at the Baron and baroness was more happy with one stack when rossy was on at twist then the sound at distorted.
