    In 1997 when Labour came to power they inherited a country in remarkably good shape with a strong economy and low inflation.

    Ill refrain from doing my opinion of the economy but do you really expect this country to be using nationalised water, gas, electric, public transport, mining, telephone etc etc ....?

    .... It would be like Soviet Russia.

    Maybe it's impossible to get things right both economically and socially, but to be honest I don't think she gave a damm about how things went socially.

    Yeah and im sure it will all be a happy ending after the current boom.

    1+ trillion quid worth of consumer debt has to be paid off some day.

    Low unemployment doesnt last for ever.

    Houses that cost 35 grand in 1997 that sold for 160 grand in bensham last year.... if thats not a boom i dont know what is.

    if she was as bad as people made out she would have been long gone. the people supposedly negatively affected by thatcher made up a substantial part of the vote... its just popular to be anti-thatcher at the moment.
