I never said I had no interest. I can't stand people complaining about things they could stop freom happening.
Fair enough sometimes bank make mistakes and companies taking payments can make mistakes but the rest of the time it's the individuals fault :D

I abused my bank(s) competely, and I knew the consequences. I wouldn't dream of complaining about it, especially not ringing up a call centre to shout down the phone, but now that it's come to light that the charges are unlawful why shouldn't I claim the money back?

I'm not saying people shouldn't claim their money. The point I'm making is the same as what you said in the first bit of your post. You knew the consequences but did it anyway :D

I'm seeing Barclays in court any day soon.

The banks love people who fuck up financially. Lots of lovely charges for them to recoup.

The self righteous may harp, but soon I'll have my money back, and I got the good time spending it.

If you have a loan they may credit the charges against the loan balance, rather than give you money back.

If they try to make you pay the loan back in a oner, and you don't have the money, all they could do is take you to court and the judge would order you to pay a reasonable amount every month.

Which I presume you are already doing, so I can't see it being worth the bank's while demanding loan repayment in full.

good thread, will keep it bookmarked..

anyway i've been lucky enough to never have this problem.

Ive been charged once - i rang up, and they reversed with with zero fuss!

Barclays that was - looks like i've been lucky!

I have a £1500 o/d limit at the mo - but i could be in shit creek when i finish uni :(
