Ban smoking in public?

smoking kills...fact.

why shud non smokers be made to breath in the smoke of smokers?

ppl choose to smoke - fair play to em, but they shud do it where it wont affect non smokers...as in outdoors..

yeah mate but peeps leave the home so they dont have to be hassled not to smoke there or wherever.

fair do's some peeps dont smoke but why shud they stop us smokers from enjoying a cigarette with a pint eh?

i didnt say i was bothered - smoking dont bother me THAT much, i was just stating something.

So smokers get to go out and have a good night out in bars/pubs/clubs.

And us non-smokers stay in the comfort of our own houses. Never going out. Anywhere.

As I've already said, smokers can easily pop outside the bar/pub for a smoke. We don't have an option though, it's either go out have some drinks and breathe in cancerous (sp?) fumes from smokers, or not go out at all.

The government are biased towards smokers because it's something that causes deadly diseases to both the smoker and passive smokers, which costs the government millions (billions?) each year in health costs.

i know wot u mean mate i jus think ppl who smoke shud be a bit more considerate and smoke wehre it doesnt affect others...

dont have to stop smokers enjoying a ciggy and a pint...jus sit outside

To cater for everyone, i think there should be more bars like the union rooms, with smoking and non-smoking areas of the building.

I'm not saying ban smoking full stop. If people want to smoke then let them smoke, just not in places where it's going to affect people who don't want cancer or heart diseases, etc.

Just need to make better smoking and non-smoking areas. I completely agree with the fact that cigarette taxes bring in a lot of revenue for the government...at least theres *one* good thing about people smoking
