do you mean the ticket prices or the running costs cos i can assure you the running costs are far from low, its just that I dont think charging people 17 quid to get into clubs for 3or 4 djs is value for money.

the last 2or 3 events we have done a super early price, this time they are only available on the net due to widespread abuse of the offer last time round

most half decent events with 4 plus acts have reasonably high running costs tho as these days people wont event look at something unless it has a known NAME on it

anyway why is there not more RODAL BASHING in tis thread, i saw digit-al lurking earlier i am disappointed to say the least

According to the beeb, it was originally on at the Rugby club and got moved because of complaints. Thats how they ended up at the racecourse...

Well, well, well. Who honestly didn't see cancellation as the ONLY outcome of this? I certainly fucking did. It'd be interesting to see how many tickets were actually sold. Less than 1000 I bet.

The Ltd company used to run everything was only set up in May... 3 months to organise a whole festival?

    Somehow I don't think so...

    Love Parade, HiFi now this.

No wonder nobody bothers putting stuff like this on up here. Line up was pretty shite bar a few names but this > "They said the organisers failed to submit an event safety plan, details of security, first aid provision and planning documentation.
They said they also failed to make payment to some suppliers.
The organisers then had talks with Newcastle City Council but failed to come up with an alternative venue at such short notice.".... to me says the pigs probs had something to do with it too. Like they couldn't be arsed to staff the event and knew that piss poor planning had already set the event up to fail....

    HiFi only sold/gave away 20-30% (about 3000) of their total capacity and they had this lineup;

    Line-up /
Live Stage: Ian Brown, The Subways, Editors, Dirty Pretty Things, Brakes, The Marshal, Envelopes

Live Arena: maximo Park, Forward Russia, Your Codename is: Milo, You Say Party! We Say Die!, The Research, Motorettes, Sound Explosion, High Dials

Godskitchen Arena: Audio Bullys (live), Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed, Armin van Buuren, James Zabiela, Slam, Desyn Masiello, Riley & Durrant

Electric Arena: Erick Morillo, Pete Tong, Steve Lawler, Shapeshifters, David Guetta, MYNC Project, Linus Loves

Radio Soulwax Presents: Nite Versions (live), 2 Many DJs, Layo & Bushwacka, Erol Alkan, The Glimmers, Headman, King Roc

Strongbow Ciderhouse: Swtich (live), Super Discount (live)aka Etienne De Crecy, Digitalism, Krafty Kuts, Barry Ashworth, Naughty, Kris Bones, James Priestley

I'd love something like that on up here again!

No promoter should even bother trying to stick a big event on up here if that failed to pull in numbers.

Hifi was a decent line up - but it was just to out of the blue to work, for something to work like that up here you'd have to put a hell of a lot of ground work in and build up like evolution fest has.

hifi didnt work for only 1 reason

cost -- it was 60 a ticket - if they had made it 30/35/40 i recon it would have pulled alot more

i won 4 tickets so went for nout - and it was mint cos everywhere u went , somebody was there u knew

i remember going back to car sunrise with melt and the steam pouring out the top of the main tent was unreal , nice to hear pounding techno come from a field in northumberland on a early mornng other than the usual 'freepartys'
