The gay night could quiet easily move to sugar and hold the numbers the Powerhouse regularly gets

The main problem was the price of the drinks - absolutely extortionate.

It was my mate who told me this and he heard all this information from the lad who is the marketing manager for the Centre Of Life, so make of it what you will

I will investigate - I know a couple people who work in the bars on the gay scene and will probably know a fair bit.

Yes, good point. I heard a rumour a while back they were looking at buying one of the older, big capacity clubs in the centre of town. Not sure how much truth there was to it.

Would be interesting for a number of parties if they did move on from Foundation.....

I think it would be terrible for the gay scene, but better than if someone like Ikon had bought it. Can you imagine the trouble if you get a whole load of homophobic wankers wandering around down there? Not fun.

Shindig crowd is a good crowd in my opinion and i dont believe they would bring any kind of bother to the gay scene in that area. Also the pubs in the gay area would make alot more money than they currently are doing.

Generally people who go to Shindig are ok, but you are bound to get the odd few who aren't. I just hope they are in enough of a minority not to cause any problems, if the move does happen.

And yes, the bars will be busier (though they already are on weekends), but a lot of gay people don't like straight people in there. And before anyone shouts me down, it's because a lot of people aren't out at work etc, and don't want to bump into people who they know who may then go and spread gossip about their sexuality. Difficult issue.

Surely the flats over the road will be a good thing for the club! Having a Nightclub on your doorstep sounds good to me!

tbh I think it’s only a matter of time before the owners of foundation are made an offer they can’t refuse. Foundation is on prime land and with all the development that has already happened, somebody will want to pull it down and build another few 100 flats in its place
