I used to work there m8.

Worked there for 10 years straight from school onto an apprenticeship to get that shite qualification that Oasis was on about . Worth nothing really .. just means they can pay you less for a year or two .

The money is good compared to other jobs in the region , helped me pay for my house and most of my Dj / Production equipment .

The work atmosphere is not that good though . The work is REALLY mind numbing and the bosses are breathing down your neck all the time about meeting targets etc etc . I know this happens at other places but its a whole different ball game at Nissan or was when i worked there . I dont think a day went by without someone offering someone else outside .. all because of the stress levels . Bullying and harresement was rife when i worked there .. mainly from the supervisors / teamleaders . If i had of known about B&H when i worked there i could of had them for thousands . Like i say though .. that was WHEN i worked there and thats over 6 year ago now .

IF you can just go in and switch off its okay ...

Good luck with it m8 .

Aye, it's still like that but only the temps get the shit because they can't say owt otherwise we'll get finished.

I've nearly been hit twice like. In the summer it's worse, it's so hot in the bodyshop, with all the gear you wear, people get really worked up.

if you can do that then it's an ok job tbh. I prefer it to call centres and stuff. I can go in tired and just get on with it, I don't need to talk to anyone or anything. I know exactly what Ive got to do and when to do it. I go home and don't need to think about my job at all.

Me cousin got moved in there after working 15 years down trim. He said it was a canny job but the heat was unbearable.

Everywhere has it's pros and cons but at the end of the day every job is shite.

    Why did you leave?

I've never done night shift at nissan but I used to do lates which was shite. It's the same amount of time but it feels twice as long as day shift. :(

Left to be a Postman ... a lot less wages but i actually like the job im doing now . Plus i had a load of studio equipment but never the time to use it .

And after 10year i started to get sick of just doing the same thing day in day out . Couldnt switch off in the end .

Aye, it's ok being there for a few year but after a while it gets to a point where you start thinking wtf am I doing here. Once you start thinking about the jobs all the time it becomes a nightmare.
Not many people can leave to take a lower paid job, good on ya. I wish I had the balls to do it.
