    one of you might know this

    Elephant and Castle tube has the dividing line for Zone 1&2 going right through the station , does this mean its Zone 1 or does it mean its Zone 2?

    it seems to be the only station that has this

    It's zone 1, but that doesn't matter really if your thinking transport cost wise, cos the smallest oyster card you can get on travel card is 1+2..

    I'm thinking of buying in Elephant and Castle come January..

    The Paris one looks miles better than the tube, at least the directions / places served are logical.. the tube only covers north london!

    if its a border station it means its in both zones depending on what direction you arrive there... so if you travel through z1 to get there its classed as a z1 station... if you travel from zones 2-6 and avoid zone 1 to get there its classed as zone 2.

    z1==========z1/z2==========z2

    where we have got a place in SE17 is pretty sweet, proper leafy bit off the main track which nice little tyneside type flats (i.e. you dont share your main door with anyone else)

    cant go wrong for £190 a week (i am still laughing at how im thinking that is cheap when the rent on my old place was £170 a MONTH) :lol:

    Shit, £190? I don't mean to piss on your chips, but I live in an upstairs maisonette with 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, nice decked bbq area outside, bang on brick lane, for a little under £100 a week!

    I'm moving just outside Woking. Will base there until I find proper job.

    The only thing that's more expensive down south is houses. Fact is, you earn more and cars cost the same; food costs the same; everything costs the same!

    I can't remember seeing a budget priced car down there. My Punto is totally out of place! I'm looking forward to splashing a bit on a nice car!

    The more bedrooms you have, the more expensive it is overall but is usually slightly cheaper for each person. I share a two bedroomed flat and pay £115 a week in Oval. My gf is in a slightly nicer three bedroomed flat (with a lovely roof terrace) two streets away and pays about £100 a week.

    Prices down here don't mean shit though, for a £100pw there is a huge gulf in standard of flats.. I saw some pretty attrocious 'flats' in the weekend I came hunting..

    I pay £90pw for a room in a 5 bed victorian mansionette, wooden floors, balcony, nice decor, leafy neighbourhood etc. and only a 10 minute tube journey from the centre of the universe..

    if its good enough for captain hook of jihad, it's good enough for me..
