It probably is being demonised, i think the first extreme step for that is when the whole binge drinking theory smashed its way into the media light. they have even sort of created a kind of low level culture out of it. however forks i think your being too much of a left wing extremist saying that they are going to demonise alcohol to a point where people will be frowned upon and people on the streets will be saying "remember when we were drinking from PINT glasses!" - no i dont think so.

i've just realised as well - i wonder if this means Bevvy companies will have to stop sending out t-shirts and posters to bars? i've got quite a collection going

There aint much booze advertising on telly anyways - and if it is, its only for the new niche groups that the big firms are trying to appeal to (women and white wine, blokes who drink alcopops).... the drinking culture is firmly entrenched in society.

To curb our alcohol problem, you'd have to do a little more than just ban adverts on tv.

The only drink advert that influenced me and pretty much the whole of the British population was the first magners ad,,,, ''Ice with cider W T F''

question: Say u are a start up company bringing a new drink and lable to the market... like Hooch did years ago.

How do you start up without advertising?

Bulmers wouldnt have sold a drink if the facebook attention boys hadnt thought it was cool cos the ads said so.

A new company wont have a fucking chance of breaking the market
