Apologies Kev, but I disagree with that whole-heartedly:

I don't see why I should vote for any of the parties as I do not support any party's policies, and I don't even believe in this system of governance.

Since this is supposed to be a democracy (ha ha), I should have the right to express that view - but unfortunately not in the voting process.

If there was an option to vote for 'none of the above' or 'new election' or 'no confidence in Government', then I would happily vote.

But either forcing people to vote for a listed Party or saying that people who choose not to vote should not be allowed to air their political beliefs amounts to fascism imo.

i don't see why i should WASTE my vote, voting for someone for the sake of it.. it's fraud!

i'd rather say more about the state of the current party system and whats being put up for offer by NOT voting at all and having a lower turn out - maybe then they'll realise they'll have to do more for joe public to get more voters...

there's a big difference to "i can't get out of bed easrly enough to vote" slackers and " i don't want to vote because they've all got shit policies"

VOTE FOR NONE OF THE ABOVE!

No offence Cole, but your 'politics' are highly flawed.

Firstly you give a :dunce: sign to someone who mentioned the Lib Dems, who ironically are probably the only party who have a manifesto as opposed to making them up as they go along depending on popular sentiment (Labour through and through, Tories also but to a lesser degree)

The reason why labour have made it to a second term, and look to get a third one seems to be boiling down less and less and less about whether or not they actually have done ANYTHING good for this country, but more because the yoof of today somehow have this jaded view that the tories are bad because people whine about the 80's.

So we have a situation where a country has a government in power not because they actually do a good job, but more about how a large proportion of the voting population vote for them because they dont want to vote for the 'other' party for all the wrong reasons, and wont vote for the lib dems because people seem to think they are a Joke? (ironically again they seem to be going from strength to strength these days).

Someone said the economy is in good shape? Oh my god thats quite possibly one of the biggest jokes ever - Our entire manufacturing industry is in recession, we're at the top of a massive asset boom, consumer debt is at sky high levels, and the government is writing cheques its ass cant cash .... in the next term of office, the government is going to have to find BILLIONS of pounds somewhere - in higher tax!

Oh, and we went to war on the back of a load of lies.

I wont be voting in this years election, but i pay 700 odd quid a month in tax and have a fair grasp of whats going on in this country and the world - Why the heck should i waste my time going to a voting office to please some misguided idea that voting for labour 'because the tories are bad mkay' is exercising my democratic duties as a subject of the united kingdom....

    purrrrleaaase.

Funny you should mention that actually.

The extra cash for school dinners came after Jamie oliver brought the issue to light on his channel 4 show.

If he HADNT have done that, and pulled politicians in front of the camera to face up to it... then they would have done BUGGER ALL ABOUT IT, and continued using tax revenues to bomb innocent people in foreign countries.

Alongside that and the fuel protests, it just goes to show that the government has an agenda that only varies when the public very rarely kick off.

and have u noticed that fuel prices have creeped up again... but i suppose that is also down to crude oil prices...
