    tesco's has applied for a 24 hour drinks licence as well

    i heard that newcastle is one of the first places to trial this 24 hour drinking but some pubs at 11 o clock will be charging a fiver to get in!!:tut:

    I read about that, they wanted to do it on the scene. The government are leavin it to the police to sort out the mess of 24hr drinking, so suggestions like this get made. Leave the 24hr alcohol sales to the supermarkets, i say. I'd rather end up back at somebody's house whilst somebody goes on a recky to a shop than either stay out or go back somewhere and pay 25 notes for a slab...

    i think most bars will just stay open late on special occasions, ie. xmas, easter, halloween, student nights etc, when it suits them most and when they will earn a profit.
