Brave New World is tops

There's no real need for anyone to read 1984, half of the book is part of real life now...

was Brave New World by Adolphus Huxley..

think I read that for my degree, but then again we read so many books that one modern fiction classic blends into another after a while

Just bought the whole of the HITCHERHIKERS GUIDE series, used to listen to the radio series as a kiddy so hope the film does it justice.

I am sure there was a TV series as well, but way back..

that is what i meant! reading is so much more satisfying than watching the television! it broadens your imagination and can be so much more exciting!

sadly i dont have much time to read non uni books :( , im reading crime and punishment at the moment though, it's excellent!

Just out of interest, what does it tell you about Marxism? As I am sure you are aware if you are studying the subject, it is based on a Bolshevik Marxist-Leninist ideological state, which is very significantly different to a purely marxist one, evolving into a stalinist reigime, which is indeed almost its polar opposite.

The book is a criticism of marxism. Why you trying to be a smart arse like? ;)
