To be honest I think that we need to take action against them before they do something to us....and they will!!! They arent interested in negotiating, they want to rule the world or at least Madsam Hussein does and he will not stop until he is stopped!!

As far as asylum seekers go this is my tuppence worth!! I work for the government and I deal all day with Asylum Seekers claiming benefit. What particularly upsets me is when you see a bloke come over, gain his status and then bring the whole family over a year later. Trouble is they have no intention of working etc, just sponge as much as they can from our welfare system.

But then you see honest working folk coming over on a work permit and these people aren't entitled to it!!! Just proves to me that this country is far too easy when it comes to who they let in etc.

Proves to be a very frustrating job at times.

i dont think him and the other 5 members of his family waiting outside were on holiday, and felt a bit thirsty!

British people who would do such a thing dont on the whole stray into central London, but the foreigners do. The thing is i see it all the time, not wanting to sound rude, but living in more rural areas means that you re not going to see as much of it as I do. It almost becomes obvious as to who s an asylum seeker, and who has residence here. Granted there is a lot of stereotypical bullshit, there always will be, its human nature. What annoys me more than anything else though, is how easy it seems for people to stroll into this country, but if I were to want to get out, and move elsewhere, to another developed country, it becomes a long and hard battle...

Right, I haven't bothtered reading the rest of the posts apart from the first one so if this has already been said, forgive me!

I have no objection to genuine asylum seekers whatsoever. However, as we're part of the EU, couldn't/shouldn't we ask for the rest of the EU to take their fair share of asylum seekers. Why should France etc, just be able to pass them off to us? I'm not saying everyone should be equal because obviously some countries have bigger/smaller populations/country size but surely a proportional split between EU countries.

I agree totally. We're seen as a soft touch and maybe we are. Where else wud they get the amount of support we give them. It sounds harsh but we do have our own problems in our country to deal with as well.

About three/four years ago, the majority of crime committed on trains in the South East (London, Kent, Sussex etc.) were committed by asylum seekers... Most crimes were gangs mugging lone travellers for cash... I know that media is not necessary a good reflection on what is really happening, but reading stuff like that really pissed me off, its not all made up!

They should be "processed" as in Australia.

Once they are in the country they are detaining in processing centres where their claims for asylum are checked out.

They are then tested for AIDS etc.

None of this happens in the UK.

Once they get past customs they have the same rights as us. Its a disgrace.

I'm not bothered if an asylum seaker gerally needs 2 come 2 our country, but if a refugee wants 2 claim aslyum they have 2 go through a legal process which takes a minimin of 9 months, in this time the peeps/peep in question get accomidation and all the rest of that stuff 4 free. If the descion go against them they just disapeer? hmmmm. Which i find very annouying but what can u do? They R supposed 2 b deported which also has 2 b paid 4

I am not racist in any way... but why are we letting others into our country when there isn't even enough resources ie hospital beds for British taxpayers, why should they be treated above us...people say its charity...should this not start at home?
