The governement are concerned about binge drinking but I guarantee half, if not all of them, polish off at least a bottle of wine a night.

yeh i totally agree, nearly everyone in my family opens a bottle a night. All my Mums friends do, i just think society is changing a bit about social drinking (well only in the house)

I still think Britain's terrible on a night out, people really do go out to get blizted!

when you look at places like France, they constanly drink but not to get battered. It;s a socil thing there, its very much enjoyed but not over indulged all the time. I think sometimes in this country we can make things worse by putting so much emphasis on the negativity so it becomes almost taboo.

I;m not saying that advertising the negative effects of things is not a good thing i just think its mad that where we are taboo is "cool". My cousin 14 is a prime example stealing drink and buying drink then sitting behind tescos drinking, not really sure why she's doing it but its "cool"

i know i drink far too much, probably have a drink (2-3) most nights of the week. but that is just the culture of how i work. the weekend can see me not touch a drop though or going completely overboard.

have to agree with what brid says, i think binge drinking is going out with the intention of drinking to get mortal drunk.

I always seem to go out with the intention of not getting drunk though, then end up completely :spangled:

that charles kennedy was the leader of a party and he was a complete piss head.

drinking is good when everyones having fun, for me it becomes a problem when it affects yourself and others negatively.

    Aye.

I think most things are ok in moderation. It's when people take it too far that it starts to affect others and yourself.
