cheers! i really wish id had a look at the old messages on this site before i started posting. i just keep repeating what other people have said. looks like a bit of a sore point with a lot of people that subject so i'll say no more on the matter
Personally I think that he's crap. I don't know why Radio 1 bothered signing him (Although I think it may have something to do with the fact that he's really good mates with Jules) He's a typical example of a bandwagon jumper. He used to play cheesey handbag (Anyone remember Malibu Stacey?) but then went Trance went stellar he switched to that. Then Progressive became big and (surprise surprise) he started playing that. Although a lot of DJ's around today are constantly changing genres so to speak, People like Tong and Oakenfold are consantly at the forefront, championing new sounds and tunes. For me, Seb is always one step behind hanging on to their coatails as it were. Technically his mixing's not really up to scratch either and his sets just don't seem to have the flow or inspiration that other DJ's have. If you ask me (and I know you didn't!) Tall Paul should have got the Radio 1 job and the Cream residency should have gone to someone like Seaman or Ornadel. The trouble is though, all those scally beer boys in Cream wouldn't know good music if it came along and painted their trousers yellow so perhaps they deserve him. Please don't book him again! I'd rather listen to Rich and Matt lay down the law on the platters that matter. It'd be cheaper too. Well that's my two cents. Anyone else?
MAY FRI 3: SCOTT BOND & SEB FONTAINE maybe we will get to see the more banging side of seb on this night
Saw seb once at Cream, he was playing 3am-6am and Corsten had been on before him. Think it is fair to say that Seb had emptied the dance floor within 3 records!!!..well not quite but he was shite His radio show is ok, used to play some good stuff now and again...fiji, trisco, ubik..goldenscan
I doubt they'll put him on before... they put tulip on after him last time... so I doubt seb would get the late set.
