 The 'overcrowded' or 'cramped' comments always make me laugh ..... outside of the south east the country looks empty out of a plane window.

The country could do with some new towns, and the infrastructure to go with them

In relation to other places? Are you mad?

    UK- population: 60,776,238

    Australia- population: 20,434,176

Australia landmass:7692030 kmĀ², more than 32 times the size of the UK and yet we have 3 times more people.

You may be saying that we have too much countryside but the densley populatd cities make up for it. If we do build more towns, they will only get filled up with imigrants, and it could prove more expensive than exporting them or burning them. ;)

The point im making is that the only very densely populated areas are in and just outside the M25 ... indeed surrey, kent and the home counties are very sparsely populated as well.

Picking australia as an example of comparable population density (when the place is all but empty) is silly.

I was just going to compare it with the level of immigration but I cant be arsed to look for the figures.

John Howard isn't putting up with any shit from the muslims either. I might immigrate there actually ;)
