You said that a bigger venue = more people = better atmosphere which just isn't true at all. Think of a lot of Arena events.

And why should people be grateful that Turbulence has been held at a venue like Digital? It already had an amazing atmosphere with MC's sometimes getting in amongst the crowds etc, you could have a crack on with almost anyone and the 'bouncers' were stewards.. which made them a lot less prone to pushing you about for having a laugh. Oh and Carson is spot on about the price of drinks. It's like they've made you pay to be in there, then they make you pay for a drink plus a little bit extra on top for still being there.

And whoever made the comment about 'growing up', that kinda summarizes the type of people who will go to Digital just for Digital.. thinking they've evolved into some sort of clubbing guru who has seen the light.

i vastly prefer digital, simply because the bassment is a right fanny on for me personally.

i think both venues have their merits, but the bassment is vastly over priced rent wise, apparently, plus only available in term time but does have an air of nostalgia when turbulence goes back there

TURBOMINCE IS BETTER AT THE UNI AND EVERYONE WHO WENT TO TURBO BEFORE THE MOVE TO DIGITAL ON A MONTHLY BASIS WOULD AGREE. DIGITAL IS BALLS FOR DRUM AND BASS. THERE IS NO ROOM TO DANCE AND WITH DRUM AND BASS I WANT TO JUMP AROUND AND HAVE FUN AND BE IN MY SPACE. NOT CRAMMED ONTO A SHIT DANCE FLOOR RUBBING UP AGAINST SWEATY HEATHENS.

I disagree with this - I think many clubs have got so big that their atmosphere has been lost to some extent. The best atmosphere I have ever seen was in Rockshots, which held around 800 at a push (and breaking fire regs). It might not have been DJs' favourite venue, but it was fantastic for the clubbers.

been a resident at Turbulence for many years, have played both rooms at both venues many times - Digital has best soundsystem ive ever played on in Newcastle, both rooms

the UNI system wasn't terrible but wasn't great (apart from when Valve came up), especially room 2 (although latest set up with the old REDS soundsystem is a VAST improvement, like at Earthday and last Arcane). I agree to some extent the 'layout' was more conducive to more flailing about than digital, which can seem crammed on the dancefloor at times

    :)

i agree, just look at HABIT at the cosmic ballroom, small-ish venue, but always an amazing atmosphere.:)
