I have lived with someone who smoked large amounts of weed and turned into a paranoid schiztsophrenic. He had serious mood swings and caused loads of trouble at times. When he stopped smoking he was sound as fuck.

The point is a tiny minority of people are not biologically safe to smoke weed, and so shouldn't. But where does this leave the rest of us? Some people shouldn't drink but they aren't breaking the law (well some are when they start fights and other scallywag deeds). Cigarettes are awful but I still smoke. Weed is not safe completely, but what is? There is always a risk when chemical reactions take place in your body.

Of course it should be legal, its one of the best social drugs around, I love a good smoke with mates. But where does this leave other drugs such as ecstacy which is a Class A? It certainly isn't in the same league as heroin...

The drug laws are contradictory and well behind the times... the government could provide safer drugs, cut out the dealers and tax the drugs... everybody is happy... now where did I leave that wrap?

Agreed with you about cutting out the middle man, and taxing it. But the quantities involved with drugs are so small compared to alcohol and tobacco, that it becomes really difficult to keep an eye on everything. Depending on the person it takes around 100 ml of pure alcohol to get you pissed. when it is diluted the quantities involved are massive compared to the 100mg of MDMA pp. Its not even in the same league.

DON'T LEGALISE CANNABIS! if the government was to legalise cannabis it would serve one good purpose, users would not be classed as criminals anymore. apart from that it would be the worst decision ever, why? Coz the price would go thru the roof!

that reminds me of a sunday dinner convo i had wi me dad when he was about 68/69. there was a guy on the television, a so called "expert" on the effects of cannabis. He said "In my opinion, driving under the influence of cannabis is 20 times worse than drivin while under the influence of alcohol". My dad goes "See?" I replied with bollox (at the sunday dinner table). My dad tried to say that this was an expert. A fuckin expert?! As i said to me dad, how many times do u think this old grey haired bastard on the tele has had a bong then jumped in the car? Absolutely none, but i have. On numerous occassions and i can tell u that what he says is bollox, total propaganda, and thats comin from a real expert Dad! Lol

Oh trust me...I'm dangerous with any products that I've never used before! I'd end up putting it down next to my cup of tea or something then drinking the hair dye and killing myself! :dunce:

definitely jim, they have got the best attitude to this type of thing. they're realistic and not stuck up. the government in this country know the truth about cannabis and would do every1 more favours if they decriminalised it, like the dam, and spent half the money they do on propaganda on educating people to the damage it can do so they can make an educated decision. its the same with E's. the majority of the deaths reported are due to naivety and lack of education. People are always gonna do drugs, they should acknowledge that and concentrate on makin sure people are safe thru knowing what they're doin.

Yeah, I read a good point earlier in this thread about them making it a class C drug and then advertising that you can still get done for it. There's really no point, I think de-criminalisation would be better for the smokers as well as the government/justice system as then the police could go round catching real criminals i.e. murderers, rapists, theifs. The world would be a better place. I thought that this would be your views, we're very like minded in these situations m8.

    YES JIM! FTW!!!!!

most coppers won't arrest u anyway. just the old "stuck in teir way" arseholes who don't know any better. the majority of times i've been caught with it on me its been taken, i've been asked where i got it (which i laughed at) and they've let me go. they couldn't be arsed with doin the paperwork enforcing a law they don't agree with.

Yeah, I tend to only smoke it at home(or at yours or another m8's), I don't like getting in trouble with the police and I never have been really. I know people who have been caught and got into trouble(u know who I mean) and its shit, the police should have better things to do than this shit.
I feel quite strongly about this.

ive seen too many close friends seriously fucked up by smoking weed, and i dont just mean addicted, i mean, permanantley phsycologically affected by it...

for everyone saying legalize it, please think about the wider picture other than the fact that 'its good to have a smoke' because it isnt nice to have to experience first hand and i would never wish this on anyone.

living with someone who is on the verge of a total drugs phsycosis isnt nice.
