ay, I don't think it needs extra mods, just some rules for the mods to enforce and it'll soon be nice and tidy

I think it's fine as it is. You're always going to get some 'spam'.

There's a certain irony whinging about threads about clubnights, right next to a thread about Unicef's photos of the year.

It's so hard to tell what's more important- Janine from GC's threads, or 11 year old girls being forced into marriage.

Right - personally, splitting the forum up is silly, however a few rules in place to keep people and threads in line is a good idea - SO lets NOT split the forum but we will use the following rules (as suggested by Gav) and a GUIDELINE to how it's moderated :

1 - Priorty given to LOCAL/North East Event Threads.

2 - All new threads must be given a meaningful title, for example Event, Location, Date - Anythiny else will be deleted.

3 - Promoters are requested to only post one thread per event

4 - Excessive bumping of threads is not allowed - Mod's discression - Posts will be deleted, excessive Threads deleted

5 - Hijacking other events threads to promote your event is not allowed. Mod's discression - Posts will be deleted, excessive Threads deleted

Anything anyone would like to add?

that looks great by me, I agree with not splitting the forums, we just need to get shot of all the shite that gets bumped in there.

Promoters should maybe get the hint that if noone posts a reply to their event noone's interested instead of trying to bump it up the page as many times as possible to try and get more interest.

I think those rules are a definite improvement on the current situation
