He shoud be banned for the full 2 years ive think he got off very lightly !!! As for Man utd trying to stick by him you can understand that there the ones that are going to have to fork out 50'000 a week or whatever he is paid for 8 months without him kicking a ball. Its also about time Man U relised they dont run football !!! He broke the rules simple as that , he didnt have to test positive if the police stopped anyone for a breath sample and you wouldnt take the test for whatever reason you would get convicted of drink driving just for refusing the test, I think the drug testing thing works under the same principals, Alan Shearer was asked about this and he said when they have been up at Newcastle you are not aloud to leave the training ground till you have a give them the sample and pulled up your zip as he said. I think he is guilty why would such a high profile player forget to do such as simple thing as that when they would understand how important it is !! Man U have to release players for International duty otherwise they would get fined again from FIFA/UEFA . Yet again footbballs name in the mud through highly paid assholes who think they can do whatever they like whenever they like. who cares if he never plays for England Again either he's overrated!!! :argue: rant over
I think they could have, FIFA/UEFA can place european/international bans IIRC. And will some fucker shoot Gordon Taylor the jumped up little prick!
Yeah but they are for bookings and sendings off. It is up to the home country FA to decide punishment in a case like this. If Rio had got a 3 month ban, thus entitling him to play in Euro 2004, FIFA couldn't of just turned around and say your not playing in it! It doesn't work like that!
I bet ya they could have! It is a bit like the Dwayne Chambers thing, he was banned from Olympics even tho they are after his ban ended (I think). FIFA can do what ever they want, it is a private competition ran by them so if they don't want him in it he wouldn't be in it.
